needed sunglasses replaced because mine were stolen.

The Broadway store personnel were always friendly and did a good job scheduling an appointment with the optometrist. A prescription was provided and I ordered new lenses for an old frame.

Two days after wearing the new lenses I returned to the store because I was seeing too sharp images, the lenses did not appear to be clear of a coating (likely polarizing) and my ability to drive was impaired. On inspection the store staff told me: your eyes have likely changed, there was a film which they offered to clean off and I'd get used to it....nothing they could do.

Ten months later I had a burst blood vessel in one eye and went to see an optometrist downtown.. He provided a prescription very different from Image Optometrists and upon seeing what they provided, he said it was two steps too strong and would explain my issue 10 months earlier.

With the new prescription I bought new glasses at Costco...what a difference!

Upon calling the original store on Broadway they told me "they could do nothing" and I'd have send an email, which I did explaining what happened. Ten days later I received an formal email from their General Council with a templated response that told me about their policy "no refunds or exchanges" because "I selected the prescription". Also very clearly stated was the date that they put a sign in the store stating their "policy". No apology, no investigation, nothing. I guess it was my fault!

I've worn glasses for 40 years without any issue whatsoever. I'm also concerned that my vision was impaired and their prescription could have caused an accident. Unprofessional behaviour from the medical profession and unacceptable as a consumer.

I've launched a complaint to the BC College of Optometrists and decided that my "policy" was to save others from being so poorly treated.

I recently bought an online coupon for Image Optometry. Because I paid so little, wasn't expecting too much. Wow, what a surprise, the most diligent doctor, the most beautiful frames and 1/3 of the price I paid at a nearby 'sight-tester' optical store that I went to last year. Their prescription was all wrong - do what I did GET A REAL EXAM FROM A REAL DOCTOR, I'll be coming back to Image Optometry from now on, I RECOMMEND THEM HIGHLY!
