The time I stepped the door in was greeted warmly. My stylist Nellie greeted me and I then new shampoo lady did a great job. I had not been to see Nellie in a long time. It was good being her chair again. She my blow dried my hair and trimmed it and then styled me. She is the best stylist there is !!! I love my hair and will be back in a couple of weeks. 🥰 ❤❤❤⚘

I started going to Cole Stevens about 2 years ago. When I first came, my hair was dry and damaged. Their hydration system has bought my hair back to life and it has grown immensely. Olga is my hair stylist and she is amazing!

This salon used to be known for prioritizing the health of natural hair — now it’s just a shell of what it once was. I brought my daughter here for what was supposed to be a simple, healthy blowout and trim. I made the appointment with clear instructions: deep condition her natural curls before applying heat. That didn’t happen.

Instead, they skipped the treatment and went straight to using excessive heat — and as a result, my daughter’s beautiful, healthy curl pattern is now damaged. When I raised the issue, the manager offered a “comped hydration service,” which did absolutely nothing. Her hair was visibly ruined, which she admitted when I bought her over to my daughter. This service was done by a “Master Stylist”, which adds to my frustration.

I asked to have the owner to call me directly. It’s been two weeks. No response. No accountability. Just silence.

Now I’m stuck having to spend time and money trying to reverse damage that should have never happened in the first place. This wasn’t just poor service — it was careless and completely avoidable. If your brand is still pretending to be about the health of natural hair, then act like it.

Black salons, do better — or stop misleading people.
