His passion is managing even the largest fibroids and most complex surgeries through small incisions using laparoscopy, resulting in reduced pain and faster recovery, but he also provides expertise in a wide range of medical management options for the conditions he treats. He has specific expertise in surgical excision of endometriosis and surgical management of fibroids.When asked about his approach to choosing the right treatment, Dr. Crihfield says There are many management options both medical and surgical for almost all of the conditions that affect my patients. There is rarely only one right answer, so my job is to present all options and help each patient choose the one that best meets their goals. If they choose surgery, then I strive to provide that to them in the least invasive fashion possible.Dr. Crihfield is also Director of Gynecology at South Shore University Hospital, an assistant professor at the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell, and a member of the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists (AAGL).
