My mother bought her appliances from Pirie's dating back to the 60's. She convinced my grandmother to buy 2 freezers from there years later. She knew 2 of the repairmen and the business was highly regarded. I bought my washer there in the 80's and got decades of use out of it. When it came time to replace my fridge about 15-20 years ago I only shopped there. I bought a Maytag fridge that was damaged by their delivery boys upon arrival (big dents, one being near the motor). I phoned the store 2-3 times per week asking for someone to come look at the damage / replace it and I was given excuses each time. By week 3 I demanded my money back. They eventually came and picked it up but kept $25 as a pickup charge. HUH? My mother won't shop there anymore and neither will I. They lost long-time loyal customers over a problem they should have taken care of ASAP (like they did in the old days). As a note, I heard they had changed hands (some of their employees bought them out) sometime before I bought my fridge and I believe that's why it's not THE Pirie's it used to be.

Time and time again these guys come through for me and my family!
This is the only place I'll ever shop for appliances. Good hardworking honest guys.

I would NEVER use Pirie Appliances again after I bought a maytag washer/dryer with their assurance that it would be properly installed. It leaked the first time I used it. When I called and told them the problem, I was told to "wipe it up".

(I am NOT kidding.) I explained that I live in a condominium and cannot have water leaking to the apartment downstairs, they sent out technicians...5 times...unable to fix the problem, and, not concerned about the problem....

I called the Maytag company, and they sent a different service company. Within 5 minutes, the technician from Lincoln Appliances found that the seal was installed UPSIDE DOWN!

Pirie's was NOT helpful at all.

I have re-told this story many times. I am a very dissatisfied customer. It is almost beyond belief that I would be told to merely wipe up the water from a NEW appliance that LEAKED.
