The downtown Federal Building was only four years old, and what we now know as the Perot Theater was referred to as the Saenger Theater. The year was 1937, and Howard Fuqua, along with Harry L. Everett, established Texarkana Funeral Home on 6th and Main Streets in the middle of the hustle and bustle of Downtown Texarkana.
