Since its founding in 1979, MMIS Inc. has supplied the Canadian market with European-made artificial casings from the world renowned Walsroder line (now part of Viskase Companies, Inc.). We still represent Viskase’s… Since its founding in 1979, MMIS Inc. has supplied the Canadian market with European-made artificial casings from the world renowned Walsroder line (now part of Viskase Companies, Inc.). Our Canadian converting department cut and pre-tied millions of casings since then. We still represent Viskase’s line of European made casings in Canada to this day. As MMIS grew, the well-known Brifisol food phosphates were added to our product line in 1983. In the early 1980’s we also began selling food processing equipment from Europe, such as smokehouses, tumblers (the first vacuum tumblers in Canada), clipping machines and many more lines over the years.
