Have bought several items at this shop and everytime I visit I am always pleasantly greeted by the staff. The owner especially takes time to talk with us to find out what we are interested in and to see if he has it in stock. Always great deals to be had. Check it out!!!

Every time I've gone there, I found the owner, Dave, to be overly pushy and condescending in an attempt to make a sale. They have their prices set initially very high. If I've shown the slightest bit of interest in an item, Dave has talked down to me to try and extract an offer from me -- this happened on more than one occasion. The last time, I was eyeballing something that was priced as if it was new in the box and inquired about the price, jokingly saying "Are you sure you're not missing a decimal point?" He asked "how much are you willing to pay for it?" I looked on eBay using my phone and told him how much it was going for there (which was just under 1/5 of what he had it up for) -- never actually promising to buy. He named a price, slightly beating the eBay price. The item was missing a small part, which would not have been a deal breaker if I didn't start to feel a tad uncomfortable overall. I decided I wasn't going to buy from the Howard's. He tried to convince me. I headed for the door. When I was about to leave, he actually called out to me and said "Don't walk out that door!" They (Dave and another employee) then again tried to convince me to buy it. Since when does a customer owe them a purchase? Right then, I felt extremely uneasy and made a quick exit when they weren't looking. When I was outside getting away from there, I heard him call out to me "Hey buddy!" What a way to scare off a customer -- very creepy. Sure, it may have been an awesome deal, but they lost a sale just by how they talked to me. Every time I've gone there, I felt accosted. If Dave didn't talk to me the way he did and didn't come across as desperate to make a sale and seen me only as a dollar sign, they probably would have had multiple sales from me by now. Now, I'm not sure if I ever want to go back there.

My wife snd I were treated with total respect and honesty! These people know how to treat customers (especially new ones!) I would never hesitate recomending them!

WOW! I've been to many pawn shops in the city and these guys are top notch by far. Not only was I treated with respect but pure honesty and integrity. I have pawned, sold and bought stuff from these guys many times and have always gotten awesome fair deals every time, there always busy and sometimes have a line up but its worth the wait in line. Since I have meat these guys I stopped shopping around and this location is my number one go to pawn shop. Its nice to see there are still good honest people out there! Thanks for all you help Howards

This is bye far the best pawn shop in Ottawa.You can tell when your there just bye how busy the place is.Ita a smaller pawn shop but boy they sell a ton of stuff.
