First time here and it was great!! Looking forward to coming back and trying more things. La Fiera was fresh and the oysters on the half shell were too. The michelada was perfect! Bartender was so nice and the atmosphere was inviting!

I'm very sorry to do this because the food is delicious and we've been here numerous times but..... I'm not sure about Acosta Azul anymore I feel like we got scammed.

We were greeted at the door and sat with the rest of our party at one of the tables by the bar.
It took quite a while for someone to get our drink order and to receive chips and salsa. We also never received more menus for the rest of the group ,so between 7 people we shared 2 menus that the people who arrived first had received.
We all had our food delivered to the table except one of our guests, she had to wait a few minutes for someone to grab it out of the serving window.
Food was fantastic as always. I really do love your food.
Now let's get to our checks...
Everything has an additional charge on it. A large one in particular was our guacamole we ordered on the menu it stated a large guacamole is $9. We were charged $15.53. (we didnt add anything to the guac). Imagine our surprise when we saw that number.
We quickly brought that up to the bartender who did did a discount of $6 to try and fix it, but when asked about the other other weird little charges to our other items for example: why are my fajitas acosta azul (which on the menu says $18) is $18.63? She stated" it's because taxes". But also at the bottom of the receipt it also shows taxes??After we brought that to her attention she blew us off.
We paid cash and watched her pull out a calculator for whatever reason.
Everyone at our table had weird little charges to their tickets. Beers that stated were $3 were actually $3.11.

Maybe if we had gotten a valid reason as to why we had nickel and dime charges to literally everything it may have been different.

Wouldn't you as a consumer like to know why your paying extra even if it's a little bit?

The octopus was very chewy. The cook needs to learn how to cook it correctly. That’s the only complaint I have about this place. Everything else was great. The shrimp, the ceviche everything the fish tacos.

Aguachile tostada for $8 with huge whole shrimp and half an avocado and yummy?? Yummy salsa and chips for free?? Amazing service with the beautiful Karen in a beautiful bright happy interior?! We freaking love it here.
