Portage is an excellent choice for pre-requisite courses. Online self-learning and self-delivery does NOT take away from the quality of education. I would argue that it is a value-add aspect in that I was able to better grasp the material by learning at my own pace. All professors I encountered were friendly, encouraging, professional, and always timely in their grading and communication. The content of the courses, manner of presenting the material, and study guides were all very helpful to my concept mastery. Portage provided high quality education at an affordable price.

I had a great experience with my Human Anatomy & Physiology course through Portage Learning. I really appreciated that the course was fully online and self‑paced, which made it easy to balance with my schedule. Having one full year of access was a huge benefit and gave me the flexibility I needed. My professor, Crista Bush, was extremely knowledgeable and always helpful whenever I had questions. Affordable, self-paced, accredited courses! The professors are really responsive. It's really clear what to focus on for each test, and I loved that I could complete everything on my own time. I was on night shift, so I was completing tests at all hours. This was really worth it for me, because I needed the course as a prerequisite for my next degree program.

The classes are very well organized and with different modes of learning which helps the student retain the knowledge better. The professors are also very helpful and always one email away. Self paced course was great once I got into a good routine. The email reminders were great and the prompt responses from student services and the professor was fantastic! There is a 48 hour wait in between exams which was hard bc once im in the zone I could keep going but this made it feel anxious waiting in between.

I took BIOL 271 and it was an enjoyable experience! I was able to complete one module a week and finish the course in about 7 weeks, including taking the exam. The content wasn't overwhelming, the labs were fun, and while the Case Studies were long, overall I would recommend the course to others. The caveat is you need to be self-motivated, know you're learning style, and take the time needed to learn the content.

I highly recommend Portage learning if you need to take a course quickly as a pre req for a medical career. I found out last minute I had to retake a nutrition class for get 3 credits and I signed up and got the material the very next day. I was able to work on it @ my own pace and finish when I needed to. My instructor worked with me at getting my grades grading promptly and communicated with me very efficiently.

I had such a great experience taking BIOD 210 Genetics. This was my first time using an online, self-paced model. At first I thought it would be "easier" but I actually found it more challenging in a good way without deadlines. I also loved the module based structure. I felt the content was both educational and relatable. I overall really enjoyed this course. My professor was also very timely and professional with responses and grading assignments/exams.

Had a great experience overall with Portage learning. I used them for 3 nursing school pre-requisites. Teachers were very responsive and stuck to the grading within 3 days promise. Many times they graded within 1-2 days of submission. The only issues that I had were my own personal issues for procrastinating, and trying to overcome distractions from taking care of toddlers. I would highly recommend this for people with young children because I was able to work at night while they were asleep. That way I could actually get things done. Overall my experience was great and I would use them again if I had to.

Geneva College's Portage learning system is incredible. Great and experienced professors present the courses, and the materials are rich and well-arranged. I first took Essential Anatomy and Physiology I and II and was surprised by what I learned. I am now taking Essential Microbiology and General Psychology.
I encourage anyone to please consider Portage Learning. If you are considering a wealth of Knowledge, especially in the healthcare system, consider taking your prerequisites with them. You will never regret the knowledge gained.

I took graduate level stats and it was a very positive experience. Layout and expectations were clear from the start. Modules were thorough and all lectures and assignments were helpful to my overall understanding of the material.
