Got my dog there 12 years ago and he has been the best dog ever. Ever had a health problem and the guy that sold him to us was so helpful and kind.

I have never experienced such a unhealthy and cruel environment for dogs and cats. This store should be put out of business very very soon. The animals are matted, unhealthy, and are emotionally going mad from being in the very small units for i would say 23 out of 24 hours a day!! you must see it to believe that this exists in this day and age!!!! DO NOT consider buying a pet here but DO consider stopping by and seeing for yourselves!!! then call the nearest inspector or agency to help shut them down. these dogs would be better off on the street where they would have half a chance of a real life! These dogs, from the employees own admission have never seen daylight...or have ever ever been with another dog for the entire time they have been at DOOGANS and most of them have been there for months! PLEASE GO THERE, DO SOMETHING!!!! THESE DOGS NEED YOUR HELP!!!! I CANNOT DO IT ALONE!!! THIS IS SERIOUS, PLEASE STOP BY AND SEE FOR YOURSELVES...I WAS THERE ON SATURDAY, MANY PEOPLE WERE THERE LOOKING AT DOGS, MANY PEOPLE WHO KNEW WHAT THEY WERE TALKING ABOUT, WERE SAYING THINGS LIKE, I WOULD NEVER BUY A DOG HERE, OR THIS PLACE IS DISGUSTING, BUT I'M SURE THEY WALKED OUT AND INSTANTLY FORGOT ALL ABOUT THESE POOR CREATURES!!!!

thank you for posting this review!!! you are right on the money with this. currently i am in the process of having my pet snake, Serenity, being opperated on ALL because they sold me a product that contains cedar shavings for her bedding which is deathly toxic to all snakes! after returning to them with the first set of bills ($120.00) of trying to bring her back from the brink they had the nerve to offer me a $30.00 in store credit!! now that she is in major surgery with 50/50 chances with bills in the $500+ i am now in the process of a law suit. so again thank you for your review and any information you have regarding this pet store would be of great help, as well if u know of any others that have been hurt by there horrific lack of knowledge and compasion. I was there last week .. my friend bought a puppy there ... not sure if hes any problems, but i was looking around at the hamsters & i see a rat with her babies... and the one rat was chewing SO much that his nost was half off from his over grown teeth !! the bottom teeth were touching his nose and he couldnt stop chewing on himself ... his mouth was cut all the way up to his nose... i was going to say something but when i was there i had just asked for a application to work there .. but i felt sooo sorry for this baby rat .. no one would have bought it why not put it out of pain ? i bet if i went there today he'd still be there... its horrible..

Doogan's is a very nice Pet shop other then the animal cages, the animal cages are quite small. You have about 70 cm cages for 50 or 60 cm sized dogs, the fish are in a total open area, somebody could just pretend to be looking at them and slip it in their purse, stroller, or even in another shopping bag and you won't notice. The cage out front is a perfect size but it looks like it's only cleaned once or twice a week. I do hope that the next time I visit Doogan's Pet store I will see a few changes.
