I went there after adopting a 3 year old dog that had belonged to an elderly lady. Chose TLC because of their professional looking website, claiming very good customer service. First visit was at end of summer, a few weeks after I adopted my dog. Very nice girl, provided me with information about my new dogs grooming needs, let me know that he tolerated everything very well, other than having his nails trimmed. Asked me to let future groomers know. I didn't think anything of it at the time and was happy with the service. Next grooming appointment, not so good, to put it mildly. Nice girl was not there, the person that "greeted" me had an attitude right from the moment I walked in the door. My poor dog was cowering behind me and as she took the leash, pulled him so hard that between her yanking him and him trying to resist, his head got knocked against their counter. No "sorry" or speaking nicely to my little dog... did not seem to care. At that point I should have left, but decided maybe she was just having a bad day, and after all, my dog was resisting, so benefit of the doubt, maybe not entirely her fault. I did mention the difficulty the previous girl had had with his nails.
When I returned was greeted by someone who I assume was the owner. She proceeded to admonish me for my "attitude" when I dropped the dog off, as well as stating "the dogs behaviour is a reflection of the owner, you must have a very unhappy life". Apparently my poor little dog did not enjoy having his nails done/paws touched. She virtually chased me out the door and stated that she would be "putting the word out" to other dog groomers. Her behaviour was stunning and difficult to understand to say the least! I can understand not wanting to deal with a vicious dog, however, my little yorkie cross could hardly be described as vicious.Since adopting him, I have never heard him growl at anyone, canine, feline or human. My little grandson loves to play with him and he loves it! He did seem however, exceedingly eager to leave TLC. He was also quite subdued for the remainder of the afternoon. Needless to say, I would never recommend this groomer to anyone, despite the claims about great customer service they make on their website.
