I had a great experience using Honestdoor to sell my home as a FSBO. My home sold significantly over asking within a few days of listing, and throughout the process the team was responsive, helpful, and quick to answer my questions. It's great that they're empowering homeowners to manage one of their most important assets themselves.

The process was not overly complicated or time-consuming - outside of the few days immediately after listing. From listing to possession took about 3-4 weeks.

A few lessons from my experience for anyone considering FSBO:

- Price competitively to maximize interest and increase the chances of multiple offers (note I still offered a full buyer's commission)
- Listing mid-week can help build momentum heading into weekend showings.
- Engage a real estate lawyer early, and optionally include a sellers condition for legal review in the accepted offer.
- Be professional, transparent, but firm during negotiations.

Overall, I'd definitely recommend Honestdoor to anyone considering a FSBO sale. The process was straightforward, and the savings compared to a traditional sale can be substantial, without making concessions on price.

I've been looking at bedroom condos in Kelowna. While others list #302-445 Allstar court $299,000. As a 2 bedroom you are listing it as a one bedroom. It's frustrating when information is not correct. This typo can make all the difference to a buyer or a seller. It can encourage a person to look at other realistate sites that proofread the listing.

I have used HonestDoor for two property sales—one commercial and one residential—and saved over $25,000 in the process. Having sold more than eight properties since 2018, I can confidently say that the two transactions involving HonestDoor were the most transparent and empowering that I’ve experienced.

Our experience listing and getting HonestDoor to make changes was very fast. We also learned to put ‘our neighborhood’ in the MLS Ad, and list the commission we would pay the ‘selling agent’. I would use Honest Door again. Real estate agents (and individuals) contacted us directly and they had no concerns with working directly with us. We save over 50% in commission by listing with HonestDoor.

Our listing hit the market on a Friday afternoon, we had a showing within 45 minutes and a dozen more that weekend. By Monday afternoon we had signed an accepted offer at 98% of asking price.

In the MSL listing notes to Realtors I asked they refrain from contacting me unless they were representing a Buyer. Fortunately they respected this request and all the calls were form legitimate buyers agents.

Once we got an accepted offer, we reviewed it with our lawyer ( In the MSL listing notes to Realtors I asked for offers to remain open for 24 hours).

After our costs, we saved about $18,000.

I hope this helps some of those thinking about doing this.

What’s interesting is when every house on my block increased in value but they show a decrease on my home. I don’t trust any of the numbers this site puts on a home given that quite literally a couple houses down from mine, on a smaller lot, with less sqft, no upgrades like mine just sold for $100k more then this site values my home.
