Not one bad experience but 2 . I can't go back.
It's not open at 11am maybe 11:20. Either way don't advertise 11 if your not ready to sell at 11. If I'm there at 11 and your open at 11 I expect to get donuts at 11. Not 11:15.
Also got shafted by the rewards, lost 6 donuts. They scrapped the rewards , clearly a sign still there for siging up.
Bad customer service, bad loyalty program. Don't bother.
I got on my bike and rode up to Krispy Kreme. For the time I waited I would be at KK and back. It's cheaper too.

Isabella's is the best mochi donuts in the city hands down. I love their fruit flavours like guava and mango. The yuzu lemonade is also quite delicious!
I think servers vary, but the japanese (i think) girl who works there is very nice!!

Isabelle's Mochi Donuts at The Well – 4.1/5
Ordered a dozen donuts, one of each available flavor.
Location – 3.8/5
Located inside The Well, so the same comments apply. Easy to find if you're already in the area, but not somewhere I'd specifically drive downtown to visit. Parking can be inconvenient, making it more of a stop during a visit to The Well rather than a destination on its own.
Venue & Atmosphere – 3/5
Like many vendors at The Well, Isabelle's operates within the food hall environment. The space is modern and lively, but it still has a food-court atmosphere. Functional and pleasant enough, but the setting isn't the draw.
Service – 3.5/5
Friendly and efficient service. Orders were handled quickly and professionally. As with Rosie's, the score reflects my overall restaurant scale. For a food hall concept, service was excellent and would be much closer to a 5/5 within its category.
Taste – 4.1/5
The standout feature here is the mochi donut itself. The texture is unique, chewy, and enjoyable, offering something different from a traditional donut.
The clear winners were the Mango Passionfruit and Chocolate Banana Caramel. Both had excellent flavor, balance, and creativity. In fact, either one could easily score a 4.9/5 on its own.
Some of the other flavors were less successful for me. The Rose Pistachio Baklava donut, while an interesting concept, didn't deliver enough flavor intensity to fully capture the inspiration. In general, several of the donuts leaned toward subtle flavors when I was hoping for something bolder.
I was also less impressed by the filled donuts. They weren't bad, but they didn't stand out compared to the ring-style mochi donuts.
Value – 2.8/5
At roughly $45 for a dozen donuts, this is definitely a premium product. I understand the gourmet positioning and the craftsmanship involved, but the pricing felt difficult to justify. While the donuts are unique and visually appealing, there is undeniably a bit of novelty and gimmick factor built into the experience.
Overall – 4.1/5
Isabelle's delivers a fun and unique take on donuts through its mochi-based texture and creative flavor combinations. The Mango Passionfruit and Chocolate Banana Caramel are worth seeking out, while some of the other flavors felt too subtle to leave a lasting impression. Expensive for what it is, but still an enjoyable experience if you're already exploring The Well and want to try something different.

I usually love mochi donuts, but this donut tasted old. The texture was harder than usual, and the cookie on top was soggy. Disappointing as they are not cheap

Stopped enroute. Good food, reasonable prices, awesome staff with good service and recommendations for our questions about the area. Highly recommend. We were able to find a place to park the motorhome within a block of the restaurant.

This was my first time trying a mochi donut so I went in with an open mind. They have quite a few different flavours available with filled and non filled donut options. I ordered a strawberry cheesecake mochi donut. The strawberry cheesecake filling was okay. The donut itself had an odd oil taste that was unpleasant.

We always look for local restaurants to dine at while traveling. Isabella’s was a fun little place. Needs a little TLC but the food and service were great and they were busy so that’s always a good sign.

Went for dinner twice. In the heart of downtown Newcastle. Friendly service and lots of food options. Good for dinner. Would recommend!

We were there with a large group - 13 of us Motorcycle riders… we were able to sit on the Patio, & order quickly. The service was top notch & the food was just as Good!

I love the different flavours they have and every week they have a different line up! You can definitely reheat them but recommended to eat them fresh. $25 for box of six is quite expensive for donuts so I won’t splurge unless I really like the flavour.

The donuts were displayed beautifully, and the unique flavors were definitely enticing. The employee was efficient, though not particularly friendly (which is fine). I tried the Pineapple Dream, but honestly, it was disappointing—it tasted stale and more like a slightly different Tim’s donut than a true mochi donut. The flavor was just okay, nothing special. I’ve had these donuts before at the Scarborough location, and they were much better. As a mochi donut, I wouldn’t recommend this location since it lacked the distinct texture, but maybe it was just an off day! 😕

Fast and convenient mochi donuts!
The selection here is all displayed at the front. There are a lot of enticing options to choose from, pretty hard to choose only one ☝️
The service is also quite friendly as well. So kind, very fast.
I got the apple pie mochi donut and it was so good. The inside filling was basically apple pie filling but the donut texture really matched it well. It was chewy and squishy and soft all at the same time.
Might have to come back and try some other flavors 😊

I see a lot of 5 star reviews, so mochi doughnuts are either something you’ll really like, or not like. I like mochi cold, but found it very weird as a doughnut, but I feel like it comes down to preference. Had a bland taste like it was supposed to be a healthy alternative, but these are well over 300 calories each. Tried the maple glazed and brown butter chocolate. Came to $9.33. Aside from not liking the taste, I don’t think they were very fresh either. Very nice presentation and good service, but these didn’t do it for me, I’m more for traditional doughnuts.

Isabella's Mochi Donuts are delicious and different... but in a good way. We ordered a variety of donuts for our half dozen. The standout donut for my wife was the Keylime Crumble, while I particularly enjoyed the Ube Supreme. The texture of the donuts is truly reminiscent of mochi, slightly chewy with a dense dough when compared to a traditional donut. I love mochi, so I really enjoyed these donuts. Recommended!

We were driving from Keystone to Sheridan and stopped in Newcastle. A local shopkeeper recommended this restaurant. We were not disappointed. The food was good and the service friendly and efficient.
