I retained this law firm and paid my balance in full under the impression that they would handle everything related to my case, including the expungement. I later learned that the expungement was not included, despite my understanding when I retained them.

The biggest issue throughout this entire experience has been the complete lack of communication.

Calls and messages frequently went unanswered or were not returned, and I was often left without important updates regarding my own case. The lack of communication became so serious that I was almost sent to jail. That is not something a client should ever have to experience because their attorney’s office failed to communicate properly.

I no longer live in Texas, so I had to travel back to Texas for court. I made that trip only to find out that the court date had to be rescheduled because the firm did not have everything in order. Again, this goes back to communication and preparation. Traveling out of state for court is a major inconvenience, and it could have been avoided with proper communication.

The staff was also rude and, in my experience, not particularly helpful when I tried to get answers.

And hide your wallet because there always seems to be another fee. I retained this firm believing certain services were included, only to later find out there were additional costs for things I thought were already covered. If you hire this company, make sure you ask exactly what is included, what isn’t included, and what every possible additional fee will be. Get everything in writing.

And one more thing: RECORD YOUR CALLS AND DOCUMENT EVERYTHING. Keep your emails, save your texts, screenshot your communications, write down dates and times, and follow up in writing. Cover yourself, because in my experience, you cannot expect this company to do it for you.

At the end of the day, THIS IS YOUR LIFE. Unfortunately, my experience made me feel like to them, it’s simply a paycheck. You are the one who has to live with the consequences if something goes wrong, not the person answering the phone.

Overall, I am extremely disappointed. I retained this firm expecting professional representation, communication, preparation, and follow-through. Instead, I experienced repeated communication issues, unexpected additional costs, unnecessary travel, and an enormous amount of stress surrounding my case.

If you decide to hire them, protect yourself. Ask questions. Get everything in writing. Document every conversation. And make sure you fully understand what you are paying for before handing over your money.
