Prior to joining Lynn Cancer Institute and Lynn Women’s Health & Wellness Institute, Dr. Pestana served as assistant professor of surgery at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist/Wake Forest University School of Medicine. Dr. Pestana earned her medical degree at Temple University School of Medicine. She served as chief surgical resident at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center and completed a mastery of general surgery fellowship at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. She also completed a breast surgical oncology fellowship at Carolina Medical Center. She is certified by the American Board of Surgery. Dr. Pestana is a member of several professional organizations. She has published numerous scientific articles in peer-reviewed medical journals and presented scientific papers at professional symposiums. To advance the field of cancer care, Dr. Pestana collaborates with a multidisciplinary team and conducts clinical and translational research.
