Very nice hotel a short drive from downtown. Rooms were comfortable, great pool and spa and staff that was helpful providing recommendations for the area. Special shoutout to Shay and Lo who took great care of my wife and I at the bar right before closing, explained the history of the hotel and entertained us with stories of the area. They made a simple visit to the bar a memorable experience.

I stayed at this hotel because it was close to the location of a 5K I was running the next day. I loved everything about this hotel and look forward to visiting again. The decor is absolutely stunning, the room was very clean and comfortable. The food was absolutely amazing! I checked out the speakeasy just to see it, but next time I’ll have a drink. Also came home with some goodies from the gift shop. A wonderful sweatshirt and candle. I felt so relaxed and refreshed after my stay and I can’t wait to come back with my family! Top notch and also, I’d pay to know what the lobby fragrance is!!! Please 🙏 🤩

The BEST place to stay in Bardstown. This property offers soo many things. A hidden speak easy which comes with amazing cocktails or bourbon pours. We enjoyed breakfast all three mornings. The hash browns were cooked perfectly. We enjoyed cigars at outside patio. All the staff were very friendly and amazing. we also enjoyed dinner at oak and ember.

The Trail Hotel in Bardstown exceeded my expectations. From check-in to check-out the staff were exceptionally kind, attentive, and always available to help with recommendations or requests. The on-site restaurant served delicious, thoughtfully prepared meals—each dish was fresh and flavorful, and the service was prompt and friendly. Our room was spotless, comfortable, and well-maintained, with attention to small details that made the stay feel very relaxing. The hotel’s Bourbon-centric vibe is fantastic for visitors—great selection and bourbon-themed touches throughout—and there’s a really cool speakeasy that makes evenings here feel special. Highly recommend The Trail Hotel for anyone visiting Bardstown—great food, outstanding service, immaculate rooms, and a perfect Bourbon atmosphere.

This hotel really deserves a 4.5, they have put a lot of work into converting an iconic motel/hotel into a comfortable bourbon retreat with tons of amenities designed specifically for bourbon lovers.The beds are comfortable, but I would note that the a/c was quite loud. The hotel really caters to its adult guests with a cigar smoking area with fire pits, a bourbon library, a golf simulator, and a speakease to name a few. They also have oversized board games, corn hole and an awesome pool that can be enjoyed by all ages. This is the nicest hotel in the area by far. The biggest downfall is that not all of the amenities are available during the week, the Speakease is only open Thursday, Friday and Saturday, the pool bar was had very minimal hours making it difficult to enjoy pool side drinks. The on-site restaurant was the best food we ate while visiting Bardstown, many restaurants in the area are closed on Sundays and Mondays so plan accordingly. Overall it was a great hotel and we would come back.
