I walk by here every day and recently they did some renovation which was so helpful. I noticed it is much more cleaner and more organizing. I always use the metro over here to go to concordia, and it used to be very difficult but now after the renovation, it is very easy and organized and clean. The new shops are also amazing. The food court is very nice.

Decent smaller shopping compaired to others downtown but it got a makeover and revamped. A lot nicer then before and has a little of everything you may need. Right next to 1 of best movie theaters downtown. Downtown starts there and ya can go east and see Montréal most popular stretch and a very busy street. It's all restaurants and shopping from there on

I hadn't been is Place Alexis Nihon is quite a while. I was pleasantly surprised by the number of stores and places to eat. It's quite busy and has a variety of stores. Winners, L'Équipeur, Canadian Tire, and IGA to name but a few.

I really don’t enjoy posting bad reviews as anyone can see on my reviews, certainly I have had bad experiences at restaurants, hotels and other establishments, but unfortunately I feel this time I should do it. I have visited this shopping center for a few years now, and the decline is very noticeable since 2025. I won’t site the details but safety inside the shops and parking lot was very much affected. Sometimes the shopping center feels like a “shelter” more than a shopping mall. Customer service became a disaster and even at the IGA, unpleasant encounters are now the new norm. Hopefully their administration will address this issue at a shopping center that is practically in the city of Westmount.

Unfortunately, this mall feels unsafe and very unpleasant to visit. Every time we go there, we feel uncomfortable and on edge. Individuals exhibiting erratic or aggressive behavior sometimes approach shoppers while cursing or appearing unstable, which seriously impacts the overall sense of security.
The restrooms are especially disturbing. Unless it is an absolute emergency, I strongly recommend avoiding them—particularly the ones on the metro level. The smell of urine mixed with cigarette and cannabis smoke is overwhelming. It is honestly better not to look at the floor, as you may see something deeply unsettling.
I would not recommend it to families or anyone looking for a safe and pleasant shopping experience.

Its a nice mall. But not as it used to be 10-20 years ago I miss the old ALexis Nihon when it was better. I hope that better security features and more common sense and humbleness comes out of the people and mall.
We need Trumpism, Ultraconservatism and Christian nationalism at this mall area and city.
Add Flags of USA 🇺🇸 Canada 🇨🇦 and Quebec.
May God Bless and protect this mall for many years to come.

One of the biggest shopping centers of Montreal is located near the Atwater station. There are many major Canadian stores here and you can do your daily shopping needs here.

A handy place to shop for groceries or grab some food. There are the big stores such as Canadian Tire, IGA, Winners, & Marshall’s. There’s a movie theatre nearby.
A good place to grab food if you’re not in the mood to cook or to stock up on water. There is metro buses and the station nearby.

With all the amazing stores, parking options, and convenient location, it’s unfortunate that safety is a significant concern when discussing this mall.
Respectfully, have you watched the show “The Walking Dead”? If you haven’t, visiting this place might give you a similar experience.
It’s disheartening to see the number of unhoused individuals, people with mental health issues, aggressive individuals, and those under the influence of alcohol concentrated inside and around the mall.
This mall features stores like IGA, Sport Experts, Winners, Marshalls, and Canadian Tire, and it connects to the subway with ample parking. However, I seriously reconsider whether I should go there. You don't feel safe at all, as you are surrounded by individuals whose behavior you cannot predict unless you’re “lucky” enough to witness it firsthand.
There is security present, but they are often outnumbered. I have witnessed altercations, robberies, and people passing out, and the response from security hasn’t been the best. I don’t blame them, as some of these individuals can be quite intimidating.
My recommendation is, if you need to go in, know what you’re doing and make it a quick visit—get in and out without looking back.
I truly hope they can find a way to better manage who enters the mall.
Good luck!

This is absolutely not a place to bring children. The restrooms were filthy and my child ate at McDonald's and ended up vomiting in the car and complaining of stomach pain all day. Additionally, the mall didn't feel safe—there were a lot of suspicious individuals hanging around. I definitely wouldn't recommend this place.
Edit: We traveled all the way from Gatineau for personal matters, only to have such a disappointing experience.

Your basic mall with big box standards (Walmart, Canadian Tire), but also unique gems like a great Asian grocery and Chinese restaurant. Decent bare-bones food court. Nothing fancy, just fresh, affordable.

All around, solid mall. Has most stores you'd need, all located compactly downtown. Could benefit from a bit less aggressive panhandler and a better phone accessories shop, but beside that, good place for everyday shopping.

This mall is an excellent destination for shopping and leisure, particularly notable for its convenient underground connection to the Atwater Metro Station 🚇. This feature is exceptionally useful during inclement weather, as it allows visitors to access the mall without having to step outside ☔. One of the standout stores within the mall is Canadian Tire, which offers a wide array of items 🛒. During my visit, I was able to purchase a variety of high-quality, yet affordable shirts at Marshall’s 👕, which added to my positive shopping experience.
Additionally, the mall houses Cocobun, a delightful spot situated right beside the Metro entrance, making it extremely accessible 🍰. At Cocobun, I indulged in freshly baked goods and delicious bubble tea 🧋, both of which were satisfying and added to the overall enjoyment of my visit. The convenience and variety of shopping and dining options available make this mall a place I would eagerly recommend 🌟, and I am looking forward to returning in the future.

This is not a safe mall!
We were resting at a table on the ground floor, when someone jumped to our table, grabbed our backpack and fled through one of the exits of the mall!
Security department did nothing, and even refused to provide us the camera footage! Instead they told us to call the police! This mall is as safe as the streets around Atwater neighbourhood! Don’t expect more security there!

I was here last year and saw many beautiful shops and everything you need is there and the thing that remains in my memory the most is the taste of the amazing pizza that I had in the food section❤️❤️❤️

Now this place is within walking distance from where I live. Been going to this place since I was a kid. So I’ve seen the “ changes” in this place within the last 20 or odd so years. Let’s just start off by saying the shopping selection here is subpar at best. You do have a nice Canadian tire , decent IGA and pet store and mid food court. Besides that, boring! The real kick about this place is how filthy it is and how many homeless people are in here all day everyday. You are guaranteed to walk through the subway station and be greeted by people smoking cigarettes, dope and drinking booze on the floor. Passed out and slumped over. If they aren’t passed out, they walk around harassing customers for money or simply yelling at people. They haven’t done anything about this problem since the 2000s. Clearly they don’t care. It’s a great thing they provide shelter nearby, however there’s no one monitoring anything; they’re should be more frequent police effort and maybe the occasional cleanup

Great mall connected underground to the Atwater Metro Station, so you can stay completely indoors if the weather is bad. Canadian Tire has everything; found inexpensive shirts at Marshall’s; enjoyed the fresh baked goods and bubble tea at Cocobun, which is conveniently located right next to the Metro entrance. I will definitely be back.

Nice shopping center. Clean and very well maintained. They have more than just basic things. You can find groceries, clothing, food, electronics... It's a one place stop!

Cool little mall, but definitely seems a little empty with much less foot traffic than most other Downtown malls.

From the outside i wouldn't be able to tell that there was a whole mall here. Looks like office buildings or something different.
Here i got off the subway and saw Canada Tire, McDonalds, Telus, and bunch of other stores.

Nice mall! Overall great service!
One thing though: The Tim Horton's staff doesn't understand the names of the items they're selling, which can be very frustrating when you spend 5 minutes asking for the same item while also pointing at it & get the wrong thing several times.
Also, the security does an amazing job. I've once nearly been jumped on the street by a man who seemed under the influence as I was getting out of a medical appointment nearby. Got inside the Alexis Nihon mall & hid. I noticed the man was inside looking for me so I notified a security agent. I don't remember his name, but he was really nice & made sure the place & metro station were clear so I could get home safely.
