I chose family… Throughout my medical training, as I learned about different specialties, one thing stuck out to me: The key to providing good care is having a relationship with my patient. I want to learn not just about the health of my patient's body, but about their mind and spirit as well. I chose family medicine because the field allows me to have those relationships and build upon them. I am honored to care not just for a single patient but for their family members as well. I relish opportunities to take a team approach to healthcare because I know I do not have all the answers. Consulting other clinicians when needed means I can provide my patients with multiple viewpoints and a higher level of care. I want my patients to be not just a part of that team approach, but at the center of it. I work to give everyone I see the information they need to make informed decisions about their care. North Carolina is the perfect state for me to call home. When I am not working, I love hiking through the Tarheel State's beautiful terrain with my family or my dog.
