I divide my time between treating my young patients and teaching future surgeons. Since 2013, I've been an associate professor of pediatric surgery at the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University. \n I'm board certified in both general and pediatric surgery and completed a pediatric surgery… I divide my time between treating my young patients and teaching future surgeons. Since 2013, I've been an associate professor of pediatric surgery at the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University. \n I'm board certified in both general and pediatric surgery and completed a pediatric surgery fellowship at Arkansas Children's Hospital in Little Rock. In addition, I'm certified in Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) and Advanced Surgical Skills for Exposure in Trauma (ASSET) and am an instructor for both. \n Being active in professional societies is important to me, and I'm involved in several, including the National Surgical Quality Improvement Project - Pediatric (NSQIP). In the past, I've served on a number of committees at Children's Hospital of Georgia and Augusta University Medical Center. \n I'm a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and of the Young Fellows Association, a member of the American Pediatric Surgery Association (APSA) and a member of the Georgia Surgical Society. \n In my community, I've served as volunteer camp doctor at the Athens Y Camp in Tallulah Falls, Georgia and a member of the Missions Committee at Trinity on the Hill United Methodist Church, where I've been part of medical missions to Honduras, Belize and Jamaica.
