I spent my childhood in Charleston, South Carolina, and, although, the roots of my family are now firmly planted in the more hospitable climate of the North Carolina Piedmont, I still occasionally long for the perfume of low tide and the embrace of the microwaved-gym-sock air of the Lowcountry. \n … I spent my childhood in Charleston, South Carolina, and, although, the roots of my family are now firmly planted in the more hospitable climate of the North Carolina Piedmont, I still occasionally long for the perfume of low tide and the embrace of the microwaved-gym-sock air of the Lowcountry. \n While getting my biology degree at Clemson University, I met an enchanting Tiger Band baton twirler who would later become my wife, the mother to our two lovely daughters and the indisputable anchor of our family. \n Although not very skilled at golf or fishing, I enjoy both immensely. Tips on improving at either would be warmly received. On any given clear night, I can likely be found exploring the infinite cosmos with my backyard telescope. \n If you have a favorite book, I would love to hear about it. Always open to a good book suggestion, I enjoy reading both fiction and nonfiction. From biographies of historical figures to topics in astronomy, to literary classics, this world is a fascinating place, and I pride myself on being a lifelong student of it. \n The wide variety of issues in family medicine, for me, is, ultimately, its appeal. As a trivia buff and crossword puzzle connoisseur, getting to utilize a diverse body of medical knowledge felt wholly natural from the start. Prevention of medical problems is my true passion. The best treatment for many medical problems is to stave them off before they occur through healthy lifestyle and routine screening. \n I see adults, adolescents and children one year of age and older.
