After donating for over a year with zero issues. I was asked about a double red blood cell donation which I tried to politely decline since their mobile truck visits our small town on a schedule. The woman taking my vitals insisted I would have to travel an hour to Dayton to see therapeutic donation and denied me that day. When I returned on their next scheduled rotation I learned I was flagged and they completely unwilling to give a reason why. Now instead of donating within the town I live Im forced to travel to Red Cross locations half hour away. Completely unprofessional interaction, rude, unhelpful, and waste of time.

When the original COMMUNITY BLOOD CENTER was the COMMUNITY BLOOD CENTER it had a real sense of unity, cooperation, warmth, organization, and dedication to the workers, donors and cause. The switch to Solvita was quick, dramatic and gave one the impression that we will just naturally be grateful they are now running the show. Didn't work, for some reason, but the donors were never given the details.
Enter, Versiti. Still not seeing really great management from the top. Top being, those making decisions, but don't really experience the results.
Sorry, but it seems the check in procedure has fallen apart. Yes, we all deeply miss Teresa. You can't replace what she did for the world, let alone the blood center. Her passing last year was a loss, that Versiti will never appreciate, but as donors, we know.
I, like many other regulars, schedule routine donations. Today, as in two weeks ago, it took a long time to get my tablet and the reading material. The tablet was again dysfunctional and needed reset, like two weeks ago. Also, two weeks ago it didn't take my info and had to redo in the vitals room.
I am glad to see new folks coming in to work and train, but perhaps the trainer should spend more time with the trainee.
The new BP devices need some more testing, as I'm not so sure of the accuracy.
As was done two weeks ago, today the new desk receptionist took me to the scale to be weighed, but this was was not written on my sheet. She did write "233" at the top. When I was turned over to the vitals person, she also had me step on the scale. She noted my weight as 219, but it was not recorded on my sheet. As the sheet no longer has spaces for DONATION NUMBER, WEIGHT, or HEIGHT, the 233 gave me pause, until I figured out today was my 234th donation.
I am grateful for the opportunity to donate. The great work being done by those I know like Courtney (apherisis), Doug (canteen)and countless others I see, but am not lucky enough to recall names, can not go without notice. They and the anonymous people my anonymous donations help are the reason I return.
As for the canteen, I get the quick sugar boost you want, but something resembling less of a junk, sugary food option would be appreciated.
As for the promotional items you give out, t-shirts advertise the cause. Spending limited funds to put small logos on items like thermal cups, socks, carry bags, decks of cards, key rings and caps that are not being seen, doesn't offer the exposure. I've actually had more people than I can count comment on my shirts than I can remember. It gets the message out. Folks who tell me thanks for donating, as they had a loved one in need during treatment.
Ok, that's all.
See you in a couple weeks.

I've been donating platelets twice a month for over 5 years. I refuse to go back now that they are officially Versiti. They can't seem to figure out how the systems work, everything but the actual donating time takes at least twice as long and while I was there 2 to 2.5 hours before to do the same thing I'd now be there 3 to 4 hours. The new systems seem to be confusing to the workers and they weren't given proper training on them so they have no idea what they are doing. I'll drive to another blood center company then go back to them.

My daughter and I go there about every 8 to 10 weeks to donate blood. Most of the people I have met, are friendly and polite. They treat you like a superstar when you come in. They always have snacks, and a special shirt that makes it a memorable experience. Last time we were there, they were having some computer issues, so they gave us king-size candy bars with apology notes taped on them.

I have given blood 195 times. Last week I called and made appt for the mobile unit at the Covington Eagles. I arrived and they could not find my appt but they said they could still see me. I was eligible to give on this very day. After putting everything in they said it was too soon. My paperwork from the last donation said I could give today. They said they changed the rules and I had to wait another month, till June 9th to make sure my red blood cells were good enough. I just had a blood test 4 days ago and my RBC was 4.63 which is perfect. The least you could have done was call me to tell me before I got there. I drove from Troy to be there. I guess I will go back to the Red Cross to donate cause since I am O negative, they want my blood. Don’t worry, I’ll tell all my friends how you treat people when there are people out there that could have used my blood.
