I had no problem with the resting part of my MIBI heart test, but the second (exercising) part is ridiculous. Where would you go but Meadowlark to be given a regular shirt instead of a hospital gown -- it was the same one I wore the last time I had a MIBI 2 years ago. By the way, who launders those ridiculous shirts. By the way, the doctor was over an hour late, I was his first test in the morning at 7:30 and he didn't show up until after 9:00. He was rude, too.
The test is to take place with the patient walking on a treadmill and having blood pressures, symptoms and heart rate measured throughout. Both times I have been there, they have insisted that, rather than walking on a treadmill, I get a horrible chemical shot into my arm to raise my heart rate. The drug makes me nauseous, my chest feels heavy, and I start to panic. It's a horrible ordeal. Meanwhile, back at the Mazankowski, I did another test involving a treadmill and was completely capable of it without the drug. I won't go back and I wouldn't recommend others do either.
