And there are so many paths you can take in nursing, it gives you a lot of options.” Nicki’s path led her to earn her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Blessing-Rieman College of Nursing and Health Sciences, and to later continue her education and become a nurse practitioner. She is nationally board certified in Family Practice and Emergency Medicine. Since 2009, Nicki has worked in emergency/urgent care medicine. “I enjoy providing this type of care because I can see someone with a problem and I can make a tangible difference in their lives relatively quickly.” And her patients make a difference in Nicki’s life, too. “Early on in my nurse practitioner career, I saw a patient who received a bad diagnosis, but ultimately had a good outcome.
