This was honestly a very disappointing and upsetting experience. The groomer behaved in a completely unprofessional and cold manner. It genuinely felt like she does not like her job and, even worse, does not like dogs — and it showed clearly in how she treated them.
What made it even more concerning is that she recorded a video and sent it to customers. Instead of being reassuring, it only highlighted how uncomfortable and stressed the dogs were. That was a mistake — it made the situation look even worse.
She also stated that she is “not allowed” to calm or comfort a nervous dog, even if it’s the dog’s very first grooming appointment. That makes absolutely no sense. Later, the manager confirmed that there is no such policy, which raises serious questions about the groomer’s attitude and approach.
Overall, this was not just unprofessional — it was concerning. Dogs deserve patience, care, and compassion, especially during something stressful like grooming. This experience showed the complete opposite.

The grooming was good, however his nails are not cut which was one of the reasons I took him to get groomed. The tech says she does not do dog nails that are black so she would buff them instead. After a day or two I'm disappointed for he still scratches everyone. I paid full price I will not return.

I have been bringing my dogs to Petco for grooming for 8 and 3 years respectively, and until now, we’ve never had an issue. Both of my dogs are small (under 20 pounds) and rescues with trauma histories, and every groomer we've worked with has shown compassion, patience, and professionalism — until today.
The stylist they had yesterday, Arianna, was incredibly unprofessional and shockingly rude. She repeatedly referred to one of my dogs as “unmanageable” and said “Why can’t he be normal?” — not once, but multiple times. This is a deeply offensive thing to say about any animal, let alone a rescue who has come so far in his healing.
She went on to say, “They need anxiety medication, but if they’re on it they can’t be seen here,” which is both inappropriate and wildly out of line. She is not a veterinarian and has no business making medical or psychiatric recommendations about my pets. Her comments were not only hurtful — they were completely unprofessional.
Arianna also dismissed our longstanding history with Petco grooming and snidely suggested, “You had a groomer you were seeing consistently — maybe you should go back to her.” If a professional dog groomer can’t handle two small, anxious dogs — something Petco advertises as being equipped to manage — then she simply should not be employed in this role. The lack of empathy, respect, and basic customer service was appalling.
This experience was not only disappointing, it was insulting. I won’t be bringing my dogs back to this location and sincerely hope Petco reviews who they choose to employ to handle sensitive animals and speak to paying customers.

HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE!!!!! I don't understand why it's so difficult to groom as requested!!! I don't understand why Petco has the cut charts, if they aren't true guides to how a cut is to be executed.
I spoke with the groomer prior to the cut fully explaining according to Petco's length chart as to the length I wanted my dog trimmed. We went over to the chart and I said I wanted the cut between the 1/4 & 1/8 length chart leaving a good coat of hair as it is still very cold out and my pup goes out quite often daily. I said once the weather breaks he can get a much shorter cut. Well, upon my return, my pup was scalped with me being told that his cut wasn't really that short as she cut using the 1/4' blade. I disputed the cut and demonstrated to the groomer that when you push up the fur on the 1/4 sample, you get a little hang enabling you to grip it, while the 1/8' you can push up but not really grip and the 1/16' is barely any fur. My dog's cut was done using the 1/16" blade with a very close barely any fur left cut which I did NOT request. The groomer tried to backpedal the cut attempting to show me the blade used. My response was to look at my pup and recall our conversation regarding the cut prior to the cut. Yes, my pup needed a bath and a cut but he was scalped with a very light dusting of fur left for the remaining of this brutal winter. I have pictures of both my pup and the cut charts to prove my point.
Because this location is so close to my home, I have returned several times and sadly this is not the first time I've experienced discontentment with this particular Petco and its groomers but this will be the last time. I refuse to continue to pay $100 and have both me and my pup to be unhappy with the service provided by Petco.
