He’s also an associate professor in the Department of Pediatrics at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston. Kamdar was the first pediatric rheumatologist at the medical school and now leads the Division of Pediatric Rheumatology. He holds a joint clinical appointment with the Division of Rheumatology, working closely with the UT Physicians Center for Autoimmunity. He is also an associate program director for the medical school’s general pediatric residency program, where he focuses on training the newest generation of pediatricians and pediatric subspecialists. Kamdar completed his medical degree at the Baylor College of Medicine. He did his pediatrics residency and pediatric rheumatology fellowship through Baylor College of Medicine at Texas Children’s Hospital. Kamdar is a member of several professional organizations, including the American College of Rheumatology and the Childhood Arthritis and Rheumatology Research Alliance (CARRA). He also serves on the board for the Arthritis Foundation, raising funds for advancing education and research in understanding arthritis. He has received numerous awards for teaching and dedication to service.
