I have been recommending this place to my social circle about this Russian nail shop but I’m not satisfied with my past experience. Customer service was good but the nails themselves are not good :( Russian manicure are known for clean, elegant, details-oriented nail style but this time, I found my nails having uneven colors and bubbles below the gel. I paid $160 for this. It should be better.

This is my favorite nail salon in San Francisco. I’ve tried Look At Me and several other highly rated places, but I always find myself coming back here. The owner is wonderful, and the atmosphere feels genuine and welcoming. They’re also incredibly flexible and accommodating whenever I have a personal emergency. Highly recommend!

I had an excellent experience at Nail It and was genuinely impressed from start to finish. I received a gel manicure from Irina, the founder, and her attention to detail and professionalism were impressive.
She took her time, made sure every step was done properly, and the final result looked flawless--clean, precise, and exactly what I wanted. This was my first gel manicure and I got it as part of a trip out of the country where I knew I would want long-lasting results.
I was not disappointed -- What stood out most was the longevity and durability of the gel manicure I received. It lasted exceptionally well without chipping, lifting, or losing its shine, which is something l had anticipated and had been looking forward to -- in and out of car services, taxis, airport lounges, hotel hallways, fancy restaurants, etc. Irina's manicure held up beautifully and I felt confident knowing my nails looked their very best for the entire length of my trip. Nail It clearly uses quality products and the application process was done with real care and expertise.
Beyond the manicure itself, the overall experience was stellar. The salon was welcoming, the service felt personalized, and the value for the quality received was outstanding. Having the founder herself as my nail technician made the experience feel even more special. I would absolutely recommend Nail It to anyone looking for beautiful, lasting nails and a truly professional manicure experience.

Been getting my nails done here for about two years and I always have a great experience. They are wonderful with cuticle and nail care. My nails always feel exceptionally clean and look sleek. I’ve had a few technicians and all have been stellar! My favorite and go-to person for the past year has been Sasha. She’s very laid back and has excellent attention-to-detail.

I requested a cat design with a french tip and they did it perfectly. 100 times better than I requested. They also fixed my broken nails to make sure it was even more perfect!! Super sweet staff and relaxing atmosphere. Will be coming back soon!

I always enjoy my experience with the nailit team. The space is always so clean and welcoming. I never leave disappointed and my nails last for at least 3 weeks. Totally worth the investment. I prefer to work with Irina or the Anna’s but everyone is pretty good tbh so it’s never a hit or miss.

My nails easily last 4+ weeks and I’m able to grow long and strong nails.

Application of the gel is very smooth and precise. The shaping is great

Only thing to note is that Russian manicures can take a while. ~1-2 hours

When it comes to nail artistry, Irina is best in class. She creates nails that look natural (multiple coats of gel, but looks like one coat), with meticulous attention to detail that results in an elegant design. What's most impressive is how long her work lasts compared to other manicures. I rarely get my nails done because I'm always dissatisfied with the results elsewhere, but Irina has completely changed that perspective. If you're particular about your nails like I am, she is definitely worth booking.

First, the good: the staff was very friendly and accommodated me as a walk-in, without an appointment. The salon is bright and clean, and very conveniently located near my office (and many others).

The bad, and the reason for the 1-star review: this was the most painful pedicure I have ever received. I was unfamiliar with the Russian manicure/pedicure technique, so let me explain. Instead of soaking your digits in water to soften your cuticles, the technician applies corn starch powder and uses a nail drill (rotary tool) to remove your cuticles. I guess in theory this can work as well as the “conventional” technique, but that was not my experience. As you can see from the attached photos of my toes (sorry 😂), the technician went way overboard. She repeatedly pushed the tool beyond the cuticle onto my actual skin, breaking it in multiple places. That was unpleasant enough… And then she applied the antiseptic spray! With my skin raw and cuts in a few places from the overly-enthusiastic application of the nail drill, my toes felt like they had been lit on fire. Honestly, this would make an excellent method of torture. At the end, she told me I have “very sensitive skin.” And maybe she’s right – maybe their usual clients don’t mind having a nail drill driven into their skin.

I went in on Monday, and I took these pictures today (Friday); as you can see, my toes are still healing.

This salon has excellent reviews, so I am forced to conclude that my experience must have been an outlier. Needless to say, I won’t be back.

just moved to the city and was looking for a new nail salon - this happened to be my first russian manicure experience as well and I really enjoyed it! really clean and well-kept space, and all the staff were super professional and friendly. nails turned out exactly like my inspo picture, and just realized the nail artist free-handed extensions on my long-time stubby index finger - it’s never looked this good. highly recommend!!

I had a really good experience the first time I got extensions here. Super thorough, lasted a long time. Decided that it was worth the high price tag and came back. The person I had today was super rough with the removals of my current gel that she burned my nail bed at least 8 times where I physically had to pull away or say “ouch”. Also, the quality this time around was definitely lacking. Potentially due to the slightly transparent color I chose for my polish, but you can see the bubble in the gel as well as the edge where the extensions start (see pictures). The top coat had some missed spots around the edges for some of the nails and one of the extensions already started lifting and it hasn’t even been 5 hours since I got them done.
For regular polish, maybe wouldn’t be an issue, but for the $140 + tip I paid, I expect more.

I had never had a Russian manicure and pedicure before..it's an off 🌎 experience. Meticulous is an understatement!! The office is beautiful with super comfy chairs 💺..very clean and they use sterile equipment and disposables are used 👌 which is excellent for infection control. I am told it will last 4 weeks, and there is a 7 day guarantee for chips or other issues, but quite frankly, I think my nails are now bomb proof. Highly recommend.
