Subsequently, she pursued her residency in general surgery at Rush and Cook County Hospital, where she received comprehensive training and honed her surgical skills. Initially drawn to the field of medicine with aspirations of becoming a pediatrician or family medicine doctor, Dr. Deal's path took an unexpected turn during her third year of medical school.
