My favorite Mexican restaurant for over 50 years. It was better in the days before covid and had a fantastic salsa and toppings bar.
The best tortillas you'll ever have !

Ive been going to La Casita since it first opened on South Nevada in an old Auto Garage, some 35 years ago.
The bean and cheese burritos are the best in town, and I love the buy 4 get one free. Best homemade tortillas in town. And, dont sleep on the sopaipilla! So light and delicious!
My one ask, La Casita, please bring back the salsa bar!!!! I just want to get my own salsa. Please! πππ
Thanks!

Came to this location at 11:30ish and ordered a large horchata and 3 burritos
Food was fine no issue there
When I took a sip of my drink IMMEDIATELY I spit it out because it tasted like rotten milk
This was my first and LAST time at this location usually I go to the one on woodmen and lesson learned
I decided to call the location and someone named DAVID answered the phone
When I told him my issue with JUST THE DRINK
He straight up caught an attitude and said β thatβs not possible itβs a new batchβ not an apology not let me check just automatically assumed I was lying
Didnβt even offer to replace my drink until I said something and it was just attitude from his end
Iβve worked the food industry as a GM myself and thatβs NOT how you treat customers who have an issue from YOUR location
I came to the woodmen location to speak to the GM here and he immediately fixed my drink with no issues and was great! Told me to just keep coming to see him and I definitely will!
I asked how can I report David and he told me his mom so at this point I feel like David just does what he wants cause his mommy owns the company?
So if youβre mom is the owner why are you speaking to her customers as if weβre lying OVER A DRINK?!??
You do know us customers pay your bills and your checks? I will definitely make sure none of my friends, workers or anyone I know come to this location so youβre now loosing MORE Business over a DRINK
So I decided to call my buddies over at the health department to pay this location a visit since DAVID didnβt seem to care about my drink
Thatβs who you have representing your company?
I couldnβt find a way to complain online but I will keep climbing the corporate letter until something is done about David behavior
Thank you again to the GM of the woodmen location

The manager was fake nice. The food tasted days old. And we weren't allowed to sit a large group in the back section because it was closed for the night at 6pm!?! And we were told it could not open, even for a group of 10, per the owners rules. At 6pm! So we had to rearrange all the front tables ourselves, which left one table for anyone coming in after us.
My family has been coming to La Casita since the first restaurant opened on S Nevada in the 80s. All three locations have been our meetup spot over the years for larger groups because no reservations are needed and we never had trouble finding seats in the back area, which are typically set up for large groups.
This is definitely our last group outing at this chain. They have been going down hill for years. Sad because we loved them for many many years. Tortillas are the only thing still decent.

We've visited this location on average about twice a year. For the most part, the food is good. The customer service is always great. The lady at the front counter is awesome. She is always friendly and appreciative! The enchiladas and menudo are good. The green chile is different, but really not bad. I haven't had it in a while. A friend of mine says it's the best! The fajitas burrito is really small for the price. It was my first time trying the chile rellenos. I thought they would be smothered in some type of chile, but weren't. No biggie, I didn't ask. They are thick with a lot cheese in them and have a thick layer of breading on them. Their tortillas are the best, and you always get 2 with a dinner plate/combo. They are made fresh with your order! The soppapillas are hot, soft, and sweet! They also had a deal going on for 2 free drinks and an order of soppapillas with the purchase of 2 dinner plates. We paid an average of $16 per person with tip.
