I had an outstanding visit to Lumbini Hut and couldn’t be happier with every aspect of the experience. From the moment we arrived, the service was attentive and friendly- our server made great recommendations.
The food quality was absolutely outstanding. The Manchurian was perfectly executed with just the right balance of flavors and sauce. The Vegetable Chow Mein was cooked to perfection-each noodle coated just right without being greasy. And their Virgin Mojito was refreshingly delicious-a great complement to the meal.
Everything came out promptly, and you can tell this restaurant takes pride in what they serve. The attention to detail in both presentation and taste was impressive. This is exactly what you want from an Indian-Nepali-Hakka fusion restaurant.
Highly recommend Lumbini Hut - will definitely be back!

The interior of this spot is genuinely impressive—the decor is beautiful and creates a fantastic atmosphere the moment you walk in. It’s the kind of place where you immediately feel comfortable and ready for a good meal.
The hospitality here is excellent; the staff greeted us with a traditional Indian Namaste as we walked in. It was also a wonderful touch to see the female staff dressed in traditional saris, which added a beautiful and authentic feel to the atmosphere.
The Starters
The appetizers were a major highlight. The Momos were a hit, but the real standout was the "Chicken Lollipop" style wings. They were prepared with a unique, high-quality dough that gave them a perfect crunch and texture.
The Mains
The kitchen definitely knows what they’re doing with the entrees:
Chili Shrimp: Absolutely awesome and full of flavor.
Chicken Noodles: Really well-executed and satisfying.
The Chilli Chicken: Excellent across the board.
Mutton Curry: While it was decent, it didn't quite hit the same high notes as the other dishes. It was good, just not exactly where I wanted it to be.
Dessert
We finished on a high note. The Gulab Jamun was fantastic, and the Rasmalai was decent, tasty choice to round out the evening.
Overall Experience: With great vibes and mostly stellar food, this is a strong 8/10. Definitely worth a visit!

Lumbini was my first visit, and the food was exceptional. The tandoori momos with a touch of sauce were the best, and my child enjoyed them so much that we doubled the order. The thakkali combo, featuring lamb and an assortment of vegetables such as karela and green mustard, was also delicious. The chicken fingers were not as good, particularly the momos. The Long Island iced tea was the best combination I have ever had.

Excellent, we had really great food and excellent service. Didn’t realize there was also a refill on the thali on the vegetables and pickles. They also pour ghee on the rice. Pooja was also an excellent server! Loved the traditional dress too. We had the chili chicken, thali and yomari (sweet dumpling) dessert!

I had such a fantastic meal at Lumbini Hut. We ordered the traditional Thali set and it was an absolute delight—not only was the presentation beautiful on the brass plates, but the flavors were authentic and comforting. The rice, curry, and assortment of sides (especially the karela/bitter gourd and pickles) were perfectly balanced.
We also tried the fried momos and chow mein. The momos were perfectly crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, and the dipping sauce had just the right amount of kick. Highly recommend this spot if you are craving authentic Himalayan flavors!

I don't recall ever having Nepali cuisine so this was new to me. With Nepal being north of India and close to Mt Everest, there are similarities to Indian cuisine, with some Chinese influences.
We started with their Steamed Chicken Momos. They were large, stuffed with chicken, and very delicious, especially with a spicy dipping sauce! That was soon followed by Dahi Puri, a crispy pastry shell with a savoury filling, topped with creamy yogurt. I've had similar dishes but these were the best versions ever!
We also had their Chicken Choyela (served with crispy broken rice), an excellent Chicken Chow Mein, and Paratha flatbread. Additionally, we had a Mutton Thakali Set which is a combo meal with several components, all delicious.
We were impressed. Every dish was absolutely delicious, full of flavour, with generous portions. I highly recommend Lumbini Hut! I'll definitely be back!
PS - They have a large patio for outdoor dining in the summer, and a banquet hall in the basement for private events. They also have live entertainment on weekends.

We tried Lumbini Hut in Ajax for the first time during Diwali and instantly fell in love with it. The restaurant has a warm and inviting vibe, and the staff are friendly. The food was packed with flavour, everything we tried tasted fresh and homemade. The momos are a must-try, especially if you like dumplings. We also enjoyed the chow mein and the chicken curry; both were delicious. We liked it so much that we went back again just a week later! This has become one of our go-to spots for eating out. My only small suggestion would be to add a few more dessert options — that would make it perfect

FANTASTIC!! I am so glad Lumbini has arrived in Ajax.
The steamed and tandoori Momo is the best thing I've ever tasted. The sauce served with the steamed Momo is to die for we asked for a second helping.
Beautiful decor inside, perfect for date night or family dining. The wait staff are lovely, attentive, soft spoken beauties dressed in traditional outfits that add authenticity to the atmosphere.
We also ordered the mutton curry thali, and chili chicken appetizer. Wow. So much better than the boring sandwich place that used to be at this location. Cannot wait to try everything on the menu! But those chicken Momo's are unforgettable.

Had an amazing experience at LUMBINI HUT where I got to enjoy their delicious Thukpa, refreshing Virgin Mojito, and flavorful Chatpate and obviously
Thkali set.To top it off, the Gilo Chatpate was an absolute treat, with its perfect mix of crunch, tang, and spice. Every bite and sip was a burst of flavor, and the attention to detail in every dish was impressive with an amazing Nepali ambience.
Highly recommend this place for anyone craving a true taste of Nepal.

Heard about this new place that opened in Ajax that serves authentic Nepalese cuisine. With the influx of Indian restaurants in Durham Region, I thought it would refreshing to try something new. I was pleasantly surprised!
The food was absolutely delicious. It didn’t taste like traditional Indian food, it had a twist which represents the Nepali palate. We ordered the Chicken Kothe Momo, Mutton Khana Set, Veg Thupka Chow Mein, and for dessert the Yomari. All of it tasted wonderful.
The nice added touch is they ask you if you want “ghee” on your rice.
The service was excellent, the two ladies serving always had smiles on their faces and were dressed in traditional Nepali clothes. We also spoke to the owner about some of his plans for the place, it has a huge patio which he wants to turn into a beer garden in the summer!
The ambiance was good. It’s quite a big place. Also they have live music on Friday/Saturday which is a nice touch.
Check this place out, you won’t be disappointed.
