we stayed at the River Run resort (8321) in August. one thing that is not clear when booking is there is NO air conditioning and NO air movement. It was miserable. The shower grout was moldy and the elevator was out. One resident said the elevator has been out for about a year. I would avoid this place. If the Kindred had openings we would have left and stayed there. This would have cost us an extra $2k+ but would have been worth. Miserable place to stay.

Witnessed a little kid accidentally bump into an employee(Zach) (The health and safety manager)at Keystone at the gondola base area. The employee was anything but nice to the kid, so I told the kid to shake it off. Don’t let it bring you down.

Said employee turns around, tells me he can pull my pass, he has the right away, the kid is at fault.

Okay. He’s still a kid. You are still the employee. Don’t stand in the snow where people are skiing in terrible conditions if you are bothered that much.

The employee then tells me I can’t leave and he’s goin to pull my pass… This is the base area so I say I don’t have a pass….. I am then told it is theft of property by simply standing on the snow at keystone without a pass…so when you all have festivals… and people are hanging out… is that theft of property too?

I eventually get away from the employee who follows me all the way from the Gondola to the Silverthorne shuttle bus…. To apologize. I leave the bus and am now walking down the highway because I fear for my safety with this Zack guy.

I told the guy to leave me alone from the jump. I was talking to the little boy who was upset and this dude thinks it’s best to turn around and start an argument with a customer. Yea. No.

Don’t advertise as a kid friendly resort and then hire people like Zach. I’m sure he will spin it to whatever he wants. Moral of the story, he was extremely unprofessional to both the little boy and myself and followed me to the bus. Stalker type behavior.

I was heading out to Denver for a football conference and decided to go early to ski for 2 days in Keystone. It was a good decision. As a member of the Epic pass, I got discounts on my stay, lift ticket, meals on the mountain and rentals. The day started with a punctual shuttle that takes to the village. What a vibrant village it is. It has shops, restaurants and rental places. You can find Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner in the village. After picking up my rentals it is a short walk to the Gondola. The views on the Gondola give you an idea of your ski day ahead. The resort features 3 main mountains. It is NOT difficult to navigate your way around. There are 20 Lifts to help you get to any area you would like. There are 130 named trails, bowls and on good conditions you can ski between the trees. There is a wide variety of terrain. I found most my funs to be Blue and Diamonds. I enjoyed this because being a better skier, I was able to get to the higher point and ski down. The Peak Summit is 12,408 feet. On the second day, I decided to snow board and enjoyed the nice long runs from the top. I spent a lot of time on Schoolmarm since it is 3.5 miles from the top to the bottom. As my confidence in ski boarding got better, there were runs to veer off to. On both days there were great views skiing down. The Mountain has something for everyone. I have skied other resorts in Colorado and found this one to be a relaxed and enjoyable day. It was during the week, so crowds may have been lower than usual. It was surprising to learn that it was founded in 1970. I thought a resort that big would have been older because of how big and developed it was. It was the first mountain to make snow in the area. It offers night skiing and has a run from the top. As previously mentioned, this mountain that can meet the needs of many skiers/snowboarders.

Awesome ski resort with lots of long green and blue slopes and plenty of ski lifts. The warm weather this spring really eroded the snow in places with bare soil patches in several places along the trails, but I can't really hold that against the resort. Loved being able to use my phone as my lift pass without even needing to take my phone out of my pocket.

This mountain is great. We loved skiing here. Some ski lifts are quite busy, but only a couple. The trails are in good condition and are well taken care of.

3rd time visitor.

It just keeps getting better.
My review is limited to parking, skiing, and on slope amenities.

Free parking. Score!

Super friendly staff.

Amazing grooming, especially if you are there early.

Vail, Breck, Copper, Beaver Creek are all within short range, but Keystone... get two thumbs up for me

This is an amazing massive ski resort mountain. It is a little difficult to get from one side to the other via trails had to take a bus which comes by OFTEN. So still very simple. It was an amazing day of snowboarding. Thank You Keystone for being awesome

I normally love Keystone Resort and still do. It has some of the best back bowls of any ski resort I’ve ever been to, especially when conditions are strong. The terrain variety and bowl skiing are usually a huge reason I come back year after year.
That said, January 2026 snow conditions have been a little rough at both Keystone and Breckenridge, and the mountain definitely shows it. Coverage is thin in spots and you need to ski a little smarter than usual. The photos tell the story.
The upside is there are basically no lift lines, which is a rare luxury these days. Even with limited snow, it’s still been a fun experience and you can get a lot of laps in without waiting around all day.
If we get better snowfall later in the season, Keystone will shine like it normally does. Even in a lighter snow year, the mountain still delivers solid skiing, great views, and efficient lift access.

The head of the ski patrol is power hungry he said if I didn’t give him my pass, he was gonna call the sheriff and he said I was going way too fast. I was with my eight-year-old son there was people going twice as fast as us. And then he followed me around for the rest of the week.

The line to get in around 11 AM on a Saturday was really long and I waited probably 30 to 60 minutes in that line. And it was kind of crowded as they were a lot of people because the skiing was in February in the middle of the month. But other than that, it was good skiing. And the food was good for lunch. Although a little bit overpriced.

For President's week, we received 23 inches of fresh snow. That's a lot! Copper, Vail and Breck handled it well, with grooming being only a small challenge. Not so Keystone - they didn't try. More or less ruined the day. Shame, as the skiing can be great on their slopes.
