I found this cafe two days ago when I arrived in Toronto. I recommend the almond croissant, cheddar scone, and chocolate chip cookie. I liked the chai too. I went returned again for the same things today. Tomorrow is my last day in Toronto and I plan to visit again. Yummy!
Final update! I visited this cafe 3 out of 4 days in Toronto. My last day, I ordered the almond croissant, chocolate chip cookies, coob salad, club sandwich and six tarts. Oh, a chai latte. My wife loved the tarts. As she said "10 10 10", in 10 out of 10.

A cozy cafe with bar tables facing the street. I tried sesame baguette which was yummy. Enjoyed flourless brownies, preferably with less sugar. Cookies and shortbread were tasty too, I enjoyed savory scones the best. Their products are something you can have for everyday routine life and enjoy the taste and quality.

I visited Circles and Squares on a Saturday morning. I came from Scarborough and wanted to try them out. AMAZING!
I picked up a BLT breakfast croissant which was flakey, moist, sweet, savoury, salty, creamy. Omg it was so good. It had nice thick slices of tomato. I've never had a BLT like it before.
I also picked up a pecan bar and a brownie.
The brownie was excellent, chocolaty and super moist but the pecan bar will bring me back. It was dense, super sweet and buttery. I will be back.
They are worth every penny.
The staff were friendly and the place had a steady lineup that went quick. Obviously a popular spot on the neighborhood.
You won't be disappointed.
April 18. Update: visited again this morning. I hade the everything bagel croissant. Very nice. Filled with a dill heavy cream cheese. Very tasty. I tried the lemon oat bar and again, another winner. So far everything I've tried is excellent quality.

Wonderful service and a wide variety of treats to meals you can get here. Haven't come across anything that I found was mediocre quite yet. Ample amount of seating in this location (two stories) but still more a grab and go spot. Butter tarts are good and they're unique due to their many flavour/styles but also the crust is slightly different than typical.

I stopped in for a to go coffee on my way to an appointment, saw their bakery display and knew that I needed to come back on my way out. So glad I did! The turkey club was probably the best I've ever had. Lightly toasted sourdough, thick slices of actual turkey, a generous portion of bacon, lettuce, tomato, cranberry sauce and a dressing I would describe as similar to a green goddess dressing but I'm not sure what it was. The iced pear ginger drink was a lovely accompaniment. Looking forward to the chocolate pecan butter tarts I grabbed to take home for my family.

Bakery good game on point!!!! If you have a nasty sweet tooth I would recommend the pecan bar ouufff and if you want something savoury you need to try the stuffed everything croissant! Got a dark roast brewed coffee which paired very well with my food.
Service and atmosphere is amazing and homey feeling :)

Deserves all the hype since they won the butter tart festival a few years ago. Butter tart flavours are delicious especially snickers and Biscoff. Apple pie croissant is my absolute favourite, scones have ample flavour, loaves are tasty and one of the best sourdoughs in the city.
I don’t love their brownies or cookies, I find both are a little dry and overcooked. Although their flavours are great so wish they weren’t!
They had one of my favourite mochas in the city prior to this past Christmas when they changed how they made it (added cocoa for hot chocolate and peppermint mocha). I Find it’s now way to rich and like drinking cocoa. Really hope they go back to old recipe.
Staff are always welcoming and kind.
They have a seating area upstairs which is very cozy and great place to work for a few hours.

I stopped by here to try some pastries (as this location is always bustling) and I was very happy with what I got to have!
They bake their pastries fresh each day, so they’re only available while supplies last. I got a Citrus Poppy Seed Scone, a Blueberry Earl Grey Scone, and a Peach Ice Tea.
The scones were beyond delicious, covered with just the right amount of icing and fluffy on the inside. They were meals in themselves! The Peach Ice Tea was refreshing and a perfect pairing.
This bakery is a great stop for some delicious pastries (both savoury and sweet), and is located right in the heart of Davisville. So, it is a super convenient location to treat yourself before, during or after work!

This cafe and bakery has a great location close to the Davisville subway station. Housed in a former Starbucks, the cafe space has keep its open, flowing feel and serves mainly a takeout clientele.
On the afternoon I was there I ordered a Cortado to stay. I was told that the beans which would be used are the Black Cap espresso beans available for purchase along with other beans used in the various drinks. My Cortado was excellent! It was hot, creamy and extremely rich. My only concern is that they only have paper cups, which, as anyone would know who follows my reviews, I find extremely detrimental to the coffee experience!!
There was, on the bar with the usual milk and sugar, an interesting array of potential coffee add-ins, including simple syrup and a honey syrup. This is an great idea to provide those options for customers.
It was obvious that this is a local place, and that the staff, who are incredibly friendly and knowledgable, know a lot of the clientele. I also witnessed some acts of extreme generosity from the staff, which would absolutely make me patronize this cafe if I lived in the area.
Next time I stop by, I will definitely try some of the bakery goods which they have on offer. They looked delicious and were obviously prepared fresh right in this location.

I first tried the Banana Pudding from Circles and Squares at a party last week, and I was blown away. It was hands down the best I’ve ever had - even better than the famous Magnolia Bakery version in NYC! So for a party I was attending today, I called ahead to reserve six of them. I spoke to Atticus, who was so friendly and accommodating.
When I arrived about 30 minutes later, I was instantly impressed by their incredible selection of prepared foods, fresh breads, frozen meals, and pastries. The front display case was pure temptation - it had one of the most stunning assortments of baked goods I’ve ever seen. Of course, I couldn’t resist picking up the award-winning Coconut Butter Tart, plus a Chocolate Chip Cookie and a Cookie Dough Cookie.
Everything was absolutely phenomenal. The Banana Pudding was, once again, a total hit at the party - creamy, rich, and perfectly balanced. But the real showstopper was the Coconut Cream Butter Tart. It was heavenly — creamy, lightly sweet, with a subtle hint of coconut that perfectly complemented the buttery crust. I’m not usually a butter tart fan, but this one completely changed my mind.
Circles and Squares is officially my new obsession - from their artisan baked goods to their signature desserts, everything is next-level. I’m already planning my next visit… and if I were stranded on an island, I’d bring their Banana Pudding and Coconut Cream Tart with me!

Lovely helpful staff. Drinks were fantastic! I had a latte, my daughter had ice coffee.
Pastries were both beautiful and delicious! Almost impossible to choose as we wanted one of everything! We ordered muffins, s’mores tarts and cinnamon buns…all incredible
This was our first visit to the bakery but will definitely not be our last!
Highly recommend!!!!

Good bakery. I got the ham and Swiss. It was good. Everything else looked good. Staff were very friendly. Unfortunately they were out of the breakfast options. The line was intimidatingly long (almost out the door), but it only took 5mins to get served.
If your in the area and looking for a bakery, I would strongly recommend.

I've been here only a few times but it never disappoints. The staff are so nice and friendly. Any food and drinks I've gotten always tasted so good! The hand held chicken pot pie was AMAZING! I highly recommend it, just be sure to get it heated. I do find it on the pricy side but for the quality, it's totally worth it.

First time ever trying a butter tart and I loved it!! The mortadela sandwich was also incredible!! We’ll definitely be coming back to try other items.

Pricy but well worth the money. Their butter tarts are AMAZING (it's the only thing I came for so I can't speak on anything else), they have the flakiest crust with deliciously rich, flavorful, and gooey filling. Totally understandable as to why their butter tarts are award winning. I was surprised with how big their selection is for how small of a shop they have. They've got SO MANY items ranging from cookies, cakes, bread, scones, croissants, coffee, tea, and more. There's even more seating upstairs-- which I didn't get the chance to check out because I was in a rush today, but I'm sure it's just as cute and aesthetic as their main level. Service was also super friendly and welcoming. Would love to come again when I'm in the area and try their drinks and one of their savory pastries! :)

This is a great cafe conveniently right outside Davisville station! It’s a bit tight in the downstairs area, but upstairs, there’s plenty of seating available. They have various baked goods, and the strawberry rhubarb croissant was amazing. They also sell salads/bowls, cakes, and other desserts like tiramisu (which was great). The matcha drinks were fairly tasty with a good matcha flavour. Would recommend stopping by, the workers were all also super friendly and sweet.

If you're looking for a cozy bakery café with delicious baked goods and friendly service, then Circles & Squares Bakery Café is the great place for you. It’s in the heart of Yonge and Davisville, and is a hidden gem that is well worth a visit.
I recently had the chance to try and I was impressed. The bakery is small and unassuming, but the atmosphere is warm and inviting. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, and they are happy to answer any questions you have about the menu.
The baked goods at this bakery are simply divine. The pastries are light and flaky, the cakes are moist and flavorful, and the bread is fresh and crusty. I was particularly impressed with the selection of vegan and gluten-free options.
In addition to the baked goods, they also offers a variety of coffee and tea drinks. The coffee is strong and flavorful, and the tea is fresh and fragrant.

First time giving this bakery a try, everything was amazing. Tried the apple pie croissant, the classic butter tart, and best of all was the garlic cheese baguette. This is my new fave specialty baguette. Amazing.

We got the spinach artichoke brioche. They offered to heat it up which we recommend! It's not too rich and very flavorful!! They have more seating area upstairs. They have a good variety of desserts and savoury baked goods as well as frozen stuff to take home. Service and atmosphere is really nice as well. Will come back for more!

Based on the reviews, I really wanted this place to shine. The upstairs sitting area is pretty miraculous – it was pretty full of people but quiet can you imagine a café or a small restaurant that’s not blasting music??? This is the spot if you wanna have a meal or coffee or a snack without music blasting through your head (a.k.a. like Starbucks or any other coffee shop in Toronto). The bathroom downstairs on the main floor, was clean and easily accessible .
The menu seemed very complete – lots of baked goods, both fresh and frozen, and some prepared food, such as lasagna. I had the meatball sandwich and the brownie and the lemonade. Here’s my two cents for the food; the meatball sandwich hit the spot, not too big and just filling enough as a lunch. The brownie was a bit disappointing – I’m not sure what it was, but it seemed like it was lacking substance too sugary and not enough cocoa flavor. The biggest disappointment however, was the “lemonade” dash it was basically lemon water. My son put it best. “lemonade is supposed to taste a bit sour and a bit sweet but it was neither sour or sweet… It tasted like very faint, lemon and water…).
The staff are extremely friendly. The ambiance was very inviting so I will give this place another shot just to try it out again.
