Love! The best chicken! The best burgers! The best fries! They have 4 Michelin stars. The food is delicious and the price is reasonable. I highly recommend this place!

I tried the classic sandwich and the wings. The sandwich was great
, and the wings were enormous and flavourful. Although I had to wait 15 mins for the wings, they were worth the wait! Would definitely come again!

Tried Chicas Hot Chicken while traveling in Toronto and really enjoyed it. I got the OG sandwich — the one that’s earned them Michelin recognition multiple times — and it definitely lived up to the hype. Great flavor, fresh ingredients, and cooked to order. My wife got the hot honey chicken it was really good too. A little pricey, but not unreasonable for the quality; feels like a solid “treat yourself” lunch spot.

I went right when they opened and there was no line, which I’d recommend because everything is made fresh and took about 10–15 minutes. Plan ahead, but worth the wait.

Great Michelin bib gourmand awarded fried chicken and fried chicken sandwiches. IMO one of the only bib gourmand awarded spots in the city that legitimately deserves it. All of their sandwiches are fantastic. Their cajun waffle fries are also quite good.

The only thing I've tried that didn't quite hit were their new chicken tenders, but I tried them when they were brand new so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt of maybe not having perfected them at the time.

Very good chicken sandwiches in the west end. This was my first visit and I went for the sweet heat sandwich, which had great flavour but way too much sauce. Eating this was a real mess which detracted from the enjoyment, but I'd definitely give this place a go again. Service was good although it did take longer than expected for the sandwich, given that it was the middle of a quiet afternoon.

The chicken here will contest any other in the city for the best in town. The fries were good. I wasn’t a huge fan of the sour cream and preferred the basic. The spice level is serious. I’m a general spicy food fan and the medium spice was plenty spicy enough. They forgot to offer the brioche bun which is fine but it would have been ideal to have it on a bun than toast. The location is very beat up and old school not necessarily in a good way.

Super juicy and fresh chicken. They told me it'd be a short wait, but it came out super quickly. The spice itself was really refreshing (Medium-hot) and altogether one of the best chicken sandwiches I've had in quite some time.

(Visited for the first time on Wednesday, Nov 5/25 around 5:30PM for dine in)

A chicken place receiving the Michelin Bib Gourmand award four years in a row - had to try the place out.

Staff we got were fantastic. Super helpful answering our questions and giving recommendations. Great attitude.
I don't know if that's the vibe or the lighting was dim, or there isn't much lighting in there but it looked sort of run down (again it was November, it's fall, it gets dark early - maybe that's the mood).

What I can tell you is the food was not run down.
Waited about tenish minutes as the food was made fresh.
I got the OG chicken bites and cajun waffle fries.
$12.50 plus $6 to make it a combo with a side and a drink - this was great value - $20.91 after tax.

The portion was great.
I had more chicken bites than waffle fries (think of popcorn chicken but crustier).
I got mild/medium heat and you could really truly taste the dusting of spice on those chicken bites.
I didn't just get like five or six pieces - I swear I got eight or nine pieces, it was fantastic. Wish I got a bit more waffle fries but the protein is where it's at.

I see why this place has received the Bib Gourmand award every year and if it wasn't in the west end of the city I would be there way more often. Move over Dave's Hot Chicken (even though there are more convenient locations).

Definitely recommend Chica's Chicken.
Wonder if I can do some catering for a party....

Hit Chicken sandwiches are quite good here. Seasoned well, not overly battered, and the choice of both bread and fillings really compliment the chicken well. Interior is pretty worn out, so not a great experience to dine in. Smell of the restaurant is also quite heavy, as I noticed my clothes really hung on to the smell of fried chicken for a few days after.

We looked forward to coming here based on others mentioning that it’s better than PG Clucks and Birdies, but unfortunately have to disagree after our experience. The place was not clean and the high chairs were all filthy. The order took 30 minutes to prepare, but the fries tasted stale and dry and chicken was not crispy.

It was pretty awesome, the chicken was a decent amount of cartilage. Coleslaw flavor definitely comes through. I prefer Dave's hot chicken still though.

A friend suggested this place because I was in their area so I asked what’s good around here ? I had their “ OG Sando” sandwhich because it seems to be there go to. The sandwhich got a 5 out of 5 from me , it was delicious I went for mild spice and the heat was right with a nice compliment of pickles and slaw. The waffle fries were equally as good will definitely be back when I’m in the neighborhood.

Restaurant was half empty, still took 40 minutes to serve my 2 piece fried chicken meal. Justification for the long wait was that the “pieces are bigger”. They were normal sized.
My advice: don’t accept ubereats orders if you can’t serve in store customers in a timely manner

It’s just fried chicken, not rocket science.

Also the tables were dirty as another reviewer stated.

Yes, you walk in and instantly feel the heat and catch that unmistakable smell of boiling oil. This spot is run by a small, hardworking team, clearly dedicated to what they’re serving. That’s probably part of their charm and natural branding.

We ordered the 4-piece chicken, plus coleslaw and fries to share. All delicious, all heavy, as proper fried chicken should be. Let’s be real: you’re not walking in Chica’s Chicken to order a green salad or oysters. You came for the crunch, the grease, and the flavour. And it delivers.

In fact, there is no light or zero pops here. Just lime Bubly.

That means you’re sitting in the smell of oil, eating deep-fried Cajun chicken, and soaking up the experience, literally. If that doesn’t sound like something you’d try, this might not be the place for you… or maybe just go for delivery.

That said, if they’re hoping to win over a broader crowd, maybe improving the ventilation wouldn’t hurt.

The chicken here is made fresh, and it really shows — super juicy and packed with flavor. I especially liked the Nashville sandwich, definitely a favorite. I’m not a fan of buffalo sauce.

The vibe is old-fashioned and cute, which adds to the charm. However, the air circulation inside isn’t great — it felt a bit stuffy

Chica’s was absolutely delicious. Both my company (who LOVES chicken sandwiches and has tried many around the city) and myself agreed that the chicken being served here is amazing.

My company ordered the OG chicken sando in the medium-hot level and I ordered the hot honey chicken sando and subbed the jalapeño for coleslaw. We both ordered the impeccable waffle fries for our sides.

We both thoroughly enjoyed our chicken sandwiches and agreed the joint is truly deserving of its Michelin nod.

Although just for the food alone the restaurant deserves a five stars, our main point of feedback is the ambiance. While we definitely are not expecting fine dining, the store would benefit from brighter lights, some more organisation and better ventilation systems that lessens the pervasive smell of oil. Also, while we totally recognize that the Texas toast is also great, the OG sando may benefit from already coming with a brioche bun.

Nonetheless, this was amazing and a must-try if you are in the area.

I really didn’t want to do this because I love fried chicken, especially Nashville chicken sandwiches. But let me tell you this is not it. I got mine and I thought it looked really really pink. I thought maybe it’s okay because surely they wouldn’t serve raw chicken. I took a bite and it was literally chewy. I took it home and cooked it longer and lo and behold it’s nice and white. When you wait for 20 minutes because it’s fresh, I don’t think we meant that fresh. Also, the ventilation is really bad my eyes were tearing up.

The service was great, missus said they were the “nicest people “

Got the OG. Nice spice, nice crunch, juicy, tasty.

We got medium level spice, which they say translates to “hot”. Very nice.

I’ve had this place before a few years ago and was overall disappointed but was in the area and decided to stop by again and I’m glad I did.

Things to know: They have 3x Michelin bib gourmand awards for 2022, 2023 and 2024 and are halal aswell.

Now the review:
First of all the exterior is bad. Plain and simple. It’s extremely uninviting and super dark so you don’t even know if it’s open. However if you overlook that and go inside you’ll get some really good service. I guess we came in when they weren’t busy but the people who served us were very nice and helpful and told us they’d need 10-15 minutes to make our sandwiches which was accurate. Until this point I was hesitant about the place but then we got the food. We ordered the OG sandwich medium spice on a brioche bun for $1 extra and Cajun waffle fries. The fries were VERY good. I’m not sure what it is but they tasted like a potato chip mixed with a French fry in the best way possible. We got them fresh so I’m sure that had to do with it but I highly recommend the fries. The sandwich was also one of the best chicken sandwiches I’ve ever had. The spice was perfect (although too spicy for my friend who couldn’t finish it) so if you can’t handle spice get mild. The chicken was cooked perfectly, their sauce they put on the sandwich is really good as well and the coleslaw complements the sandwich really well. Overall taste it was basically perfect. There’s nothing that I’d change except maybe a bit more coleslaw as it was lacking a little. Other than that perfect.

Only things I didn’t like overall are that the sandwiches are a bit small for the price ($13 or $14 for mine), and the decor and inside should be nicer. Get more lights inside the place too as they need them badly. Overall I would for sure come here again.

Saw an article about this place and thought “I like Nashville sandwiches”. My wife and I gave it a shot and wasn’t disappointed. Interacted with 4 guys when I was there. All of them were great, knowledgeable and friendly. I ordered the OG with Cajun fries and my wife ordered the hot honey and sour cream and onion waffle fries. They were all delicious. My only caveat is unless you are badass spicy eater go with mild. My sandwich was medium and it was really spicy. (Side note: one of the guys didn’t charge me for a water, and even offered to give me another sandwich, I think he saw me suffering)

This place is awesome. Check it out.

This spicy fried chicken is seriously finger-licking good. The crispy skin crackles with each bite, giving way to juicy, tender meat. The heat is just right, building with each mouthful but never overwhelming. It's the kind of food that makes you want to slow down and savor every moment. Definitely a must-try for any fried chicken lover.

2024 October 4★
3 year consecutive Michelin rated since 2023 (23, 24, 25). Can certainly say it's good, though have had some definite contenders just as good.

The OG Sando combo $19.50
Large Cajun Waffle Fries
The sandwich with their signature sauces and spices along with a slaw and pickles inside. Pretty good. The waffle fries were great.

4 Pieces Plain $22.00
Pieces of chicken are huge. Spices and sauce just as good. Juicy and tender. Though the chicken without the spices/sauce wasn't very flavorful.

Overall, prices are reasonable. Definitely worth checking out.
