JD handled all the photography for my wife and I’s wedding and engagement, and we COULDNT be happier with how amazing the photos turned out. JD is the best! He photographed an engagement session and our wedding, and both sets of photos were perfectly shot/edited in exactly the style I was looking for. He made us feel comfortable being photographed and kept us relaxed— resulting in natural, STUNNING photos. JD is great at communication and responsive to all questions asked. We received our photos back in a timely manner and his gallery site is easy to use. Could not recommend him more!

My husband and I could not be more pleased and grateful for the work ethic and talent of JD and his team. JD had been highly recommended by our wedding planner but it wasn’t until the day of the wedding that I realized what a pro he is! Our photos literally look like magazine pages (I hate to boast) but it’s true. :) JD is precise, helpful with how to pose and makes sure you’re on schedule! Two years since our wedding - my husband and I are still in love with JD’s photos! One of the things we loved the most was his gentle presence at the wedding - we had communicated with JD about how both of us don’t consider ourselves photogenic / comfortable in front of the camera. And we hardly ever felt like he was in our face about photographing throughout our wedding. Yet, he took such classic pictures that still look beautiful years after our wedding. Thanks for taking photos that will last a lifetime for us, JD! Only two years late but I had to leave a review because we still enjoy the pictures and love your work so much :)

I cannot even express how fortunate we were to find JD's work and to have worked with him for our wedding. He is very responsive and his process is very straight-forward pre-wedding.
Since we didn't have engagement photos, he was kind and generous enough to meet with us over the phone, so we could have a "feel" of both parties and to roughly plan out how the session(s) were going to flow on the day of the event.
Given the documentary approach to his work, we gave him full freedom to document everything and everyone he found interesting to document : We didn't hire a videographer. With this being said, JD captured perfectly not just the essence of the energy of the wedding, but the chronology of the highlights of the event.
Not to mention, our portraits are STUNNING. We are so happy we trusted the little glimpses of JD's inspiration and flow of the moments to give us direction. Please trust to follow him if he sees an interesting spot for him to photograph you in. His keen eye in pure magic.

Wow wow JD is a magician! His photos were nothing short of spectacular. Truly stunning shots.

And, he is a BLAST to work with! Everyone in our families and bridal parties loved him. Our dog loved him. We loved him.

I don’t particularly enjoy taking photos, but JD made entire the process fun and smooth.

He had amazing ideas for unique shots, and many of his suggestions ended up being some of our favorite picture from the entire day.

10/10 recommend, you won’t be disappointed.

Worth every penny! JD did our engagement shoot (pictures attached) and just did our wedding on the 16th. Truly great and very easy to work with. We were running late and JD was able to wrangle all the family quickly and easily and the timing improved because of this. We were behind but never late! Our pictures that we received for our engagement shoot were so beautiful that i cannot wait to see the ones we get back for our wedding!
He was so easy to communicate with and answered all of my questions in a timely manner with easy to understand responses.
He showed up early and was everywhere it seemed like, all at once. We had many many guests comment how amazing he was throughout the night.
Because there was so much going on and so many people to talk to, the whole day seemed like a complete blur! As the bride, it went by so fast, and i had no idea how many details i would miss out on. This is why JD was a good choice! i will get to see the beautiful details of the night.
I did a ton of research before selecting a photographer and i’m so grateful he is who i went with. Will definitely use him for other life events as long as he’s in business!
100% choose JD if looking for candid/documentary style.

JD was the best—and also maybe knows a bit of sorcery, because he somehow managed to capture everything everywhere all at once (hope that's not copyrighted...) as the solo photographer at our wedding! He was able to find both the calm, still moments and the chaotic, joyful ones, which is true photography magic.

He has an incredibly kind and steady presence and was wonderful to work with in the months leading up to our wedding, as well as the big day itself. We are always phenomenally awkward in front of a camera, but with JD's candid shots and spot-on guidance on where the heck to put our arms, we look less like marionettes and a lot more like...models?! He truly went above and beyond, from making our guests laugh and feel completely at ease, to helping with wardrobe adjustments and even flooring my mom with his Mandarin skills.

Anyways, choose JD for your wedding photography! We are so happy he was part of our day. We'll still be looking back on the photos when we're both two old and wrinkly peas in a pod.

JD is truly the best of the best in Austin, Texas! We first met JD when he took our engagement photos. He made my husband & I feel so comfortable & it felt like he was a friend we had known forever! Our engagement pictures came out beautifully. He shot our wedding on 2/3/23, and we were just blown away at the time and dedication he put in. We got so many compliments from our guests letting us know our photographer was great and was capturing every single shot! And he really did. I’m so happy we had the chance to work with JD & we’d do it all over again.
