I met with Dr Ashby concerned about my right knee. I previously had a total left knee replacement and never wanted to go through another knee replacement. Dr Ashby explained my options, including injections which temporarily relieve the pain but last less and less time the more frequently you have them. He explained about the new, less invasive robotic procedure and suggested I think about my decision. After having an injection which didn’t last very long, I decided to go ahead with the robotic surgery Dr Ashby told me about.
I couldn’t be more pleased with the outcome. Dr Ashby and his staff were exceptional in their planning, pre-op advice, surgical procedure, and post-op care. After 6 weeks post surgery along with Physical Therapy appointments I am now able to walk pain free and have a very good range of motion.
I cannot recommend Dr Ashby any more highly for his excellent knowledge and care. On a scale of 1-10, I give him a 15!

Dr. Ashby and his Team are very kind and caring and dedicated professionals. I had a total joint knee replacement. Throughout the process, They just kept it simple before I knew it. I was heading out the door. I’m at six weeks right now and I’m walking just fine with minimal pain. It’s well worth it if you have A bad knee. Thanks again Dr. Ashby.

I have never had any surgery before and was nervous. Dr Ashby was very informative, never rushed me and gave me confidence. I was very pleased with the total knee replacement process. Had minimal pain, hardly any scar and have scheduled surgery for the 2nd knee. Have been nursing these knees along for 15 years. So happy I’m finally getting them fixed.

After hearing the stories of friends and neighbours about their experiences with hip surgery I was rather worried about to do it. But living in ongoing pain was no option too. A good angel sent me to Banner Health and there I met Doctor Ashby.
I endured several surgeies in my life till now and thinking to my age I had rather “cold feet” to do this one.
But just this one was the most easy! And when I say easy I mean it. Doctor Ashby did such a great work with replacing my right hip! Also his team showed up very caring. There was not a single uncomfortable moment. I could go home from hospital 3 hours after surgery, could go on my own to the bathroom from the same day using a walker. After 3 days I walked only using a crutch, on the 5th day I could move freely in my home without walking aid, after 10 days I walked my dog again only using a walking stick and could drive. I didn’t even need the pain killers they gave me.
I only can recommend Doctor S. Ashby. He gave me back an important part of my life : The ability to sit, stand and walk without hip pains.
Should my other hip ever make problems I know where to go without having doubts. To recommend Doctor Ashby will be an honor to me.

I met Dr. Ashby in June 2025 ready to take a trip to Disneyland with my grandson with crippling knee pain. The x-rays did not define anything wrong so we did a steroid shot. I came back from my trip scheduled the MRI which found two tears in my meniscus and I was bone on bone on my left knee. Dr. Ashby recommended full knee replacement. We scheduled surgery and all corresponding appointments. Surgery took place on December 2, 2025 and as of today im at six weeks post surgery and doing great. My care was professional, caring, supportive. My recovery has been unbelievably pleasant. Every question and or concern answered and I would definitely return for any other issues.
