He has received multiple scholastic recognitions including Who’s Who in America and America’s Top Doctor in US News and World Report in addition to Faculty Teaching Awards from the School of Medicine. Dr. Shihab received his medical degree from the American University of Beirut. He completed his Nephrology fellowship training from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia followed by a Transplantation Medicine fellowship at the Oregon Health and Sciences University in Portland. Dr. Shihab is board certified in Internal Medicine and Nephrology. He has been active in various national societies in his field including the American Society of Transplantation where he chaired the Fellowship Training, the Conflict of Interest and the Development committees. He is also actively involved in various committees in United Network of Organ Transplantation, the American Society of Nephrology and the National Kidney Foundation.
