Tables are close together. The place was noisy but not annoying. I took out a large pie to bring home. It was delicious and was easy to crisp the crust upon reheating. The cost was $19 without toppings before tax and tip. Higher than most places I get good pizza at but understandable for being in a busy shore town.

Lou at Squan Tavern gave us the best service we’ve had in a long time! He was friendly, attentive, and made us feel genuinely welcome from the moment we sat down. It’s rare to come across a server who makes the experience this enjoyable.

On top of that, the pizza was outstanding—fresh, flavorful, and easily one of the best around. Great food, great atmosphere, and exceptional service from Lou. We’ll definitely be back and hope to have him as our server again. Highly recommend Squan Tavern!

All around great experience. The hostess, Valerie, went above and beyond to ensure we got a seat at the bar when she knew we had been waiting. The bartenders were very friendly and on top of all the patrons at the bar. The pizza is delicious! Great atmosphere. Highly recommend.

We stopped in as a party of 5 on a Sunday afternoon and had no problem being seated outside. Their patio is covered and has a cool breeze going through making it an enjoyable afternoon. Portions are huge and great for sharing. Ann was great at keeping drinks full and being patient while we were looking over the menu. Her and another server took the time to give us a few places to check out after we mentioned we are new to NJ. I appreciate the friendly faces and the good food! The parking lot in the back is huge and definitely made it easier with kids.

Nostalgia for locals seems to be a big part of the appeal. The menu has a wide variety of pub food. Staff was distant and seemed tired after a long day. The establishment was clean and the layout was slightly clunky with wobbly seats and tables. The pizza was good and seems to be popular with lots of pickup orders. Looking forward to trying it again when we are in the area.
