A great place to learn for kids and adults of all ages! The staff and coaches are amazing! The place is spacious and clean. Jiu jitsu has really been a huge confidence booster for my 11 yr old son! Highly recommend it for anyone interested!

Began my BJJ journey here after I met one of the coaches in a college class. I started initially to learn self-defense, but found that I really liked it, and stayed to learn the art and stay active. Overall, I really enjoyed my time training here. The community overall was friendly and welcoming, with plenty of experienced higher belts who are willing to help you learn. Coaches and Professor were always willing to help and answer questions that you had on the mats. They were even willing to work with me to devise a once a week training plan during to my busy schedule as a full time student with limited transportation (shout out to Coach Thiago!! Thank you!!). Sadly, I did have to transfer to a GB closer to home after graduating, but GBFC made that transition pretty easy! If you’re looking for a place to learn jiu-jitsu in the Fort Collins area, I would highly recommend here!

I’ve been with Gracie Barra for just over 3 years now and every moment has been nothing short of incredible.

The environment is welcoming, calm, clean, and respectful, as are all of the wonderful people who train here. If you are scared to give Jiujitsu a chance, you were just like me 3 years ago. I was so scared to walk in those doors I came in with my hands shaking. When I tell you it was the best decision I’ve ever made, I mean that wholeheartedly.

When you first walk in those doors you will be greeted by a big smile from our incredible friend and very talented purple belt, Thiago. He will get you all sorted out, walking you through the first time jitters, helping you out with your Gi, and making sure you feel safe and welcome.

As you move inside you are welcomed by our world class Black Belt professor and coach, Fabricío Lopez. Over the years, Fabricío has grown to be one of my closest friends and mentors not just for Jiujitsu, but also for life in general. From asking me about my cats, to talking to me about real world situations I had gone through, to staying late and making sure I felt heard and seen, Fabricío is a true class act and an incredible coach and friend to all. His teaching style is easy to follow, he’s extremely patient and understanding of the BJJ system and always more than happy to go the extra mile to help you understand something. He is also an extremely advanced competitor with dozens of wins from all over the world. If competition is something you want to try someday, Fabricío is the best there is to help you prepare for that goal.

Lastly, Coach Isaac. When you first start your journey here, you are going to be under the guidance of one of the most skilled, knowledgeable and friendly people you will ever meet. Isaac is an incredible coach not only for the adults class but also for the kids classes as well. His teaching style is very calm and easy to follow, especially when BJJ is something that’s totally foreign to you. He explains things in a step by step process and answers any and all questions with enthusiasm and excitement that show you just how much he cares about your personal growth and understanding of the moves being taught and BJJ as a whole.

Overall, Gracie Barra Fort Collins is a life changing place, a family, and a truly inspiring and incredible community of people of all ages and backgrounds. No matter who you are or where you’re coming from, your fitness level, your skill level, etc. - We have a place for you here. We hope you see you join soon.

I joined Gracie Barra Fort Collins in August 2025 to push myself to improve and to develop a new supportive community. The instructors and Professor at GB have fostered that, and much more than I originally expected. The community at GB is unlike any other I have experienced before, demanding excellence, but allowing patience. If you find yourself wandering in for a demo class, be prepared to change your entire life for the better.

A special thanks to Coach Thiago, Coach Issac, and Professor Fabricio Lopes. Without their support, I'd be much less of a person. You rule!

My daughter (11) goes to Gray’s Cibara in Fort Collins, and we’ve had an excellent experience. The instructors are great patient, professional, and great with kids. They create a supportive environment that builds confidence while still challenging the students to improve.

My daughter absolutely loves going there and looks forward to every class. We’ve seen growth not only in her skills, but also in her discipline and self-confidence. The staff is friendly, organized, and clearly passionate about what they do.

Highly recommend Gracie Barra to any parents looking for a great place for their kids.
