He received several awards during his Residency and Fellowship, and he has published numerous research articles in professional medical publications. Dr. Van Husen is leading the development of a Center of Excellence in Bariatric Surgery at Midland Memorial Hospital, and he is board certified by the American Board of Surgery. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, as well as a member of the Texas Surgical Society and the Permian Basin Medical Society.
