Firstly, when you arrive there is nobody to meet you with your cases and so you will need to negotiate steps (no ramp) with your baggage. I helped someone else lift theirs up them. Reception are somewhat mixed in ability, knowledge and even interest in you. The lodge we had was very nice and quiet. The restaurant was overall good and reasonably priced. There is a free bus service into town or to the Fairmont. There are local hikes nearby eg up Tunnel Mountain - steep but an amazing view. We had a log fire in our King room which was lovely.

Great location! Short, 20 minute walk into Banff Town center or you can take the roam bus. Staff is super helpful and friendly. Food at their restaurant is delicious.

Great property. I stayed there 20 years ago and thought maybe it would be dated and old but its NOT. Such a quaint place. So much wildlife. A Fox literally curled up at the back door to the room and napped!
Staff are what youbwould expect from a luxury property. Not a single average interaction with these amazing staff.
Food in the restaurant is great. Get the 7 piece chacuterie board.
The only bad thing i can say is that they have no Air Conditioning. I spent 4 days on a housboat in 38 degree weather and not a single decent sleep because of the heat and then was so looking forward to AC and luxury conditions. Im sure its not an issue normally but we were there in a super hot week. It broke my heart. Lol. Other then that we will stay here everytime we come back.

Phenomenal from start to finish!

We had a wonderful stay at Buffalo Mountain Lodge. Honestly, everything was phenomenal from the beginning until the end.
We stayed in a Premier Plus room, which was absolutely beautiful. The lodge has a great and high-quality interior, very cozy but also elegant. A beautiful detail we loved: they provide high-quality amenities from L’Occitane in the rooms, which was a lovely touch.
Most importantly, the staff was absolutely courteous and helpful with everything. You can feel they really care about their guests. We highly recommend this place and will definitely come back!

Buffalo Mountain Lodge delivered a flawless stay from start to finish, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a true mountain getaway. Every detail—from the rooms to the restaurant and staff—made our week there unforgettable.

Overall stay
Our 7‑night stay at Buffalo Mountain Lodge was absolutely perfect, with that legit mountain lodge feel we were hoping for. The grounds are beautifully maintained, and the whole property feels warm, inviting, and well cared for.

Rooms and comfort
The rooms are super clean, nicely updated, and extremely comfortable, and we slept perfectly every single night. The in‑room fireplaces add a cozy touch that makes it feel like a true alpine retreat rather than a standard hotel.

Property and amenities
Although parking can be a little tricky at first, we were able to figure it out without too much trouble. The hot tub was exactly what we needed after long days of hiking, offering the perfect way to relax and unwind.

Restaurant and breakfast service
The on‑site restaurant is a real gem, with excellent food and even better service throughout the day. At breakfast, Jordyn, Alexander, and Monique treated us like royalty—so friendly, attentive, and full of great tips on things to see and do around town.

Afternoon drinks and staff highlights
Afternoon happy hour from 2–5 pm with half‑price drinks was a fantastic bonus, and Ihor made sure our glasses were never empty. We also had the pleasure of meeting Mike and Zack, who help maintain the property; they were incredibly kind and helpful, offering suggestions for meals, hikes, and sights that genuinely improved our stay.

Management and recommendations
The restaurant manager was also wonderful—very friendly, present, and clearly committed to making guests feel welcome.

I could go on and on... We truly can’t recommend this lodge and its restaurant enough, and because they book up for good reason, we strongly suggest making reservations well in advance.

We had a wonderful stay at Canadian Mountain Resort Banff. The unit was beautiful, airy, very clean, and incredibly roomy. We especially loved the balcony and being surrounded by nature , it felt peaceful and private while still being very close to Banff.

What truly made the experience exceptional was the personal approach from the staff. Checking in with Charlie and checking out with Mia and Ana was such a pleasant experience. They genuinely care about their guests, and their professionalism, knowledge, and warm personal touch made us feel truly welcomed.

Thank you for making our stay so memorable. I highly recommend this resort .

I had a great time staying here. The lodge was very clean when we arrived. We had a nice free upgrade to a bigger lodge, which was really nice. Our lodge came full with a full kitchen, living room, wood-burning fireplace, big bathroom, and more. The service was very good, professional, and friendly,. We were able to use a wood-burning fireplace. We ate in the restaurant as well. The location was good, located just a couple minutes away from downtown Banff. Truly had a good time.
