The new courthouse is great! The wedding venue was nice. Nicole's restaurant is on the first floor for breakfast and lunch!!! The breakfast bar was delicious!!!

Sue in the probate records was very rude. I was told by my county I needed to go to Akron where I was married to obtain my marriage license. Turns out I was given wrong information so she talked to me like I was a dumbass.

I stopped in the civil division today to file a small claims case and had the most unpleasant experience. The clerk was extremely rude and short tempered and had ABSOLUTELY no business dealing with the public.

We have a civil case in which we’re trying to sue someone through small claims court. We’ve already been screwed over badly by Akron PD; Now I’m finding that the people in the small claims office are very nice when you go into the physical office. But when they have your money, and you need to talk them over the phone about an issue, they’re rude and act like they have something better to be doing than their job. The woman I just spoke with had the worst customer service voice and skills I’ve ever heard, and was not helpful or reassuring at all! 😤

Firstly, when I was fined, I asked how to pay the ticket; the response from the cop was, mail-in. I asked if they had a website or if I could call via the phone; I was met with a 'maybe', that they don't know, but that I could mail it in, which, is growing to be a bit of an outdated model.

So, starting things off, not only was I uncertain how to go about appropriately paying the fine, but, I didn't even know the amount I owed as my ticket was devoid of that info. (Maybe that's a normal practice?)

So, I had to call in.

Alright.

I call in and try to get in contact with someone to understand where I can move forward on this, well, flash forward to having to keep calling the office because when you dial '3' to talk with someone, if said person is on another line with someone else, then, you have to keep dialing in, as the system disconnects you from their line/doesn't keep you on hold.

Then, once I get in contact with someone, I do in-fact learn you can pay via their website, but, whoever picked up the phone was short, curt, and clearly didn't want to be communicating. All I asked for was what my options were to pay a fine, and I get exasperated, disinterested, and lacking tones from the other line.

This entire experience taught me that, those in charge of this establishment don't seem educated, professional, or composed in a way which would merit communal feelings of appreciation, respect, or admiration.

I understand the job can be rough, and, in this particular situation, I did make a mistake. But I was trying to improve myself by taking care of my owed responsibility, and needed, literally, the smallest amount of help to make sure I could do what I needed to do, which, seemed like something that wasn't gained with any level of respect on the opposite end.

I don't find value nor have respect for the establishment for the way things were handled, overall, and their system in place. It could be greatly improved upon.
