Great selection of escape rooms with very different vibes. High production value across the board. For the Witch’s Cauldron room, our game master Shanon sang the story intro like a medieval bard, which was super fun and set a great tone.

Four of us did the Houdini room and it was a hoot! Very fun mechanics. There’s one especially big, fun surprise. Allison and Shanon were very helpful and fun! Put as ease and in a laughing mood!

Had an amazing time with Shanon as our game master- they were helpful making sure I had accommodations and gave us an immersive experience. Definitely coming back here! We did the Hyde Circus, Case 93, and Wicked Witch themed rooms and enjoyed all 3 immensely

We had a very disappointing experience at our first time with 60out. Our scheduled room at HHLA had to be canceled due to a medical emergency. While we understand emergencies happen, we were offered only a refund or a different room, with no voucher or compensation for the inconvenience of rescheduling a group of six.

When we booked a different room on Temple St, the experience did not improve. The game master seemed disengaged from the start. When we arrived he only provided a brief rules explanation and a quick bathroom check, without any friendly introduction or effort to gauge our experience level. This is something we’ve had at every other escape room we’ve visited, simple things like have you guys done escape rooms before, is this your first time visiting 60out.. something! Which we did not get.

During the game, hints were odd. There was even a broken puzzle piece if it was like that intentionally not sure what the point of it was.. otherwise why are you letting us play in a room with broken pieces. The game master was not paying attention or something to our game because we asked for a hint, and he told us to do something we had already done. At one point in the second to last room, the game master told us he couldn’t see what was going on inside the room, making it hard for him to guide us properly. In this same room, stuff was not working, we had to figure it out on our own because again, the game master was not paying attention/cameras not working. This did not add to the experience, as we were paying for an experience that was given to us, not at 100%

After the game, he did take our picture (a blurry one where you can't see our faces) and then instead of asking if we enjoyed it or walking us out, the game master started promoting another room (sounded like he was forced to do this) and then basically cued us to leave. He never asked if we enjoyed the room or anything. Again, very odd, maybe this is normal for 60out but not what we’re used to.

Overall, the lack of engagement before, during, and after the game, combined with misguidance, made the experience disappointing. While we understand that some issues may be outside the company’s control, the overall customer service and experience fell far below what we expected from 60out.

Completely immersive and perfectly set the mood for the entire experience. The rooms were well-designed with high-tech puzzles that were legitimately difficult, making our eventual escape feel like a real accomplishment. Our game master Allison was absolutely fantastic, keeping us on track with perfectly timed hints. If you’re looking for a top-tier escape room in LA, 60out is definitely the spot to hit.

Did the Hyde Circus room with a group of friends and had the best time! Very fun room and incredible ambiance. Lav is a great game master!! Everything seemed true to theme and the puzzles were the perfect level of difficulty.

UPDATE: Allison from Silver Lake 60out reached out directly to address my review. I really appreciate that they took the time to respond and take my concerns seriously, showing that they really care about a positive customer experience. Hearing that I may be the only person to experience a potential mechanical failure, and still taking the time and effort to fix a problem is very meaningful. The specific area where I got hurt was addressed and efforts were clearly put in to add additional safety. I also noticed that the sink in the bathroom looks like it was reinforced, and both restrooms were in working order.

On the downside, when walking through the Houdini room, I noticed that one of the puzzles was still inoperable, leaving the room feeling still outdated. We decided to try out another room when we came back, Wicked Witch. While most of the room was extremely fun and immersive, some of the puzzles were worn out (some symbols, some ink, without giving away any spoilers for the room) and some had some minor failures in terms of a small door not opening, or an issue with having multiple solutions to a specific puzzle. This would feel like a 3 star room with those issues.

We also decided to try the newest room, Case 93, which is a 5 star room in my opinion. The experience and puzzles were incredible. It’s a top ten room in Los Angeles in my opinion, and one I would highly recommend. And also, the game master (Allison) was absolutely lovely and attentive.

Overall, I’m happy to update my review to 3 stars as opposed to the 2 originally posted. Having been to so many different rooms and companies around L.A. and out of state, the Silver Lake location still seems to fall short in terms of modernity and upkeep, even within other 60Out locations such as HH, which feels like a tentpole location.

PREVIOUS REVIEW:
I’m part of an Escape Room group that does anywhere between 5-10 different rooms per month. We visit various companies across Los Angeles, and unfortunately the Silver Lake 60out falls squarely at the bottom of the list.

Last night (10/12/25) our group did the Houdini room. During the experience it felt as if one of the mechanisms malfunctioned and I ended up hitting my head fairly hard. After we completed the room, we discussed the puzzles with the game master (who was lovely), and we asked about a number of items in the room that very much seemed like part of the experience. It was explained that some items have been worn out and are no longer part of the room.

Last year, our group did the Hyde Circus room. There was a puzzle that we are certain we entered a correct code for, and it didn’t open, which was confirmed by the game master. It cost us a lot of time in the room and soured the overall experience.

The location itself has various signs including one of the bathrooms being out of order, with the other bathroom posting signs not to lean on the sink, or how to flush the toilet if it doesn’t work.

Overall it seems as if this location is falling apart. It needs some proper upkeep and maintenance, and I’d suggest trying other rooms instead.

Understaffed/ Slightly Disappointed

My first time in this location and I’m slightly disappointed. We got there 20mins before our time. It was only one guy doing everything. Honestly I felt bad and I can tell he was trying his best.
During our time in the Houdini room we requested hints and sometimes there was no response. Also, some parts of the game were not set up properly which would throw us off.

Please consider staffing adequately to provide your customers the best experience.

Our experience at 60OUT was amazing! Miles was immersive and patient as we stumbled through the room, and the clues were engaging. It felt challenging without becoming frustrating. Overall, a very fun night! We sadly forgot to get Miles' venmo for a tip, he deserves one!

Case 93 was absolutely amazing! Definitely one of the more challenging with many puzzles, however it is more straightforward than most escape rooms my partner and I have done. Definitely worth a try!

Was so fun! Great atmosphere and really cool puzzles. We played A few here and Case 93’ was my favorite. Highly recommend if you like horror. Shoutout to our host/game master Matt! He was awesome!
