It's unfortunate that the Tirion group, who did such a nice job in the Hamptons, has become one of the worst developers from a social perspective. Tirion has proposed to build Westridge in Cochrane in such a way that it negatively impacts the neighbouring agriculture producers. They hope to achieve this by putting up a low fence around the Westridge community and connecting the Westridge development to the unpaved MD road to the west (they are doing this despite presentations by numerous groups showing the impact of their planned development). They have privately stated that their goal is to make ranching difficult by increase traffic volume, dust and trespassing, thereby forcing the WineGlass Ranch to sell. I know that local landowners have asked to meet with Tirion face-to-face to discuss some of the issues so that the agriculture community and the Westridge development can peacefully co-exist. Tirion has refused all meeting request.

I refuse to have my company associated with Tirion Properties. There are other developers out there to work with who actually care about the impact they are having.
