My first time dining in Haveli and it did not disappoint me at all. Chicken biryani is the best, garlic cheese naan is so good as well, chicken seekh kebab is kinda dry but other than that the whole experience is perfect.
In addition our server is kind and helpful and her name is Iqra.

We stopped at Haveli Indian & Pakistani Cuisine during our road trip because we saw it was a Pakistani-owned restaurant. As Pakistanis from Lahore, we were excited and trusted that we would get authentic Pakistani food.

We had been driving for hours and were very hungry. That’s exactly why we chose Haveli, expecting a delicious and authentic meal. Unfortunately, it turned out to be one of the biggest disappointments of our trip. We ended up wasting both our money and our meal because we simply couldn’t eat the food.

We ordered the Lahori Chicken Karahi, but it tasted nothing like Lahori Karahi. The flavor was completely off, and after everyone served themselves, almost all the food was left on our plates because no one could finish it.

We also ordered Chana, which was surprisingly sweet and did not taste like authentic Pakistani chana at all.

The Mango Lassi was sour instead of fresh and sweet.

We also noticed that other customers were served their drinks in attractive pineapple-shaped glasses, while our lassi was served in a plain disposable plastic cup. That felt disappointing and inconsistent.

The Chicken Seekh Kababs were very dry, tasted like plain white chicken with very little flavor, and were overpriced at around $14 for only a few sliced pieces.

The Naan was extremely crispy and hard instead of being soft and fresh, yet it was quite expensive.

What was even more disappointing was that not only the adults, but even our children didn’t enjoy the food. My 9-year-old daughter took one bite and said, ā€œThis food doesn’t taste good at all. It has no flavor.ā€ When even children refuse to eat the food, it says a lot about the quality and taste.

Overall, the food was far too expensive for the quality we received. We spent a significant amount of money, but instead of enjoying a satisfying meal after a long road trip, we left feeling disappointed, hungry, and frustrated because most of the food was left uneaten.

If you advertise a dish as ā€œLahori Chicken Karahi,ā€ customers naturally expect it to resemble the authentic taste of Lahore. Sadly, this was nowhere close.

We chose this restaurant because we wanted authentic Pakistani food from a Pakistani-owned business, but unfortunately, it did not meet our expectations at all.

I sincerely hope the owners take this feedback positively and improve the authenticity, quality, and consistency of their food so future customers have a much better experience.

This is one of the biggest disappointments I’ve ever experienced here. We ordered from Haveli seven times throughout April and May, and the food was absolutely outstanding: rich, creamy, deeply flavorful, and full of authentic aroma. It was the best Indian food we had found in Oregon, and we regularly recommended the restaurant to family and friends.

Then June came. I ordered takeout, and the quality was completely different. I assumed it was just an off day, but a week later I ordered again and received the exact same disappointment. The Chicken Tikka Masala and a few other curries we tried were thin, watery, and tasted almost identical to one another, resembling a bland broth rather than rich, distinct sauces. As seen in the attached photos, in chicken tikka masala there were huge chunks of undercooked onion, pieces of bell pepper with peeling skin, and almost none of the depth of flavor we fell in love with.

We were loyal customers who spent our money here repeatedly because we truly believed Haveli had an exceptional kitchen. Unfortunately, after consecutive disappointing orders across different dishes, it feels like the quality has dramatically declined. Sadly, we won’t be back.

Food is okay. The samosa is delicious but when it comes to Biriyani both paneer and mutton it’s not great. Mutton Biriyani is like just bones there and paneer Biriyani rice was not boiled well. Knowing its punjabi place we should have ordered roti and curry which would have been better combined. Better luck next time. The server lady is really good interms of response and behaviour…. Give a five star to her ā¤ļø

Clean and bright restaurant with a lovely family business vibe. The food was delicious! One of the best Indian food experiences we’ve had in Portland. I had the chicken saagwala and my husband had the chicken tikka masala. The naan was perfect and we enjoyed samosa appetizers. Friendly and fast service - we will be back!
