Resolution Update: The company contacted me after I posted my original review and wanted to do what they could resolve my experience. We agreed on terms and I have increased my review from 3 stars to 4 stars. They expressed that the Houston location is new and working out its system, and that there was mechanical trouble with the truck on my moving day. Not sure if that's true or just a line, but they at least made an effort to follow up. I'd likely use them again and would expect better communication next time.

The praise: The movers did a good job. They brought everything needed to complete the job and the move went smoothly. They were respectful in spite of the heat. If I could rate them separately from the phone-side, the rating would be higher.

The criticism: It's the phone team members that dinged my impression and mismanaged my expectations. When I booked, my sales rep mentioned that my move would be the first job of the day and the arrival window was 7:30 am - 8:30 am. When I received no notification by 8:30 am, I called and that sales rep said that the scheduling manager would call me back immediately with an update because he did not have that information. So I waited for the call, which ended up being a text that I didn't get until 9:20 am and it said the movers would arrive at 10 am. At this point, they offered to take $25 off my fee for the inconvenience. Then at 10:18 am I received a text that said the movers would be at my location in 20 minutes. At 10:44 am, one of the movers called me to let me know they were 5 minutes away. Once they arrived, it was smooth sailing. The job was done and I was emailed an invoice, which did not reflect the $25 discount I was offered. A rep called me right then to ensure I received the invoice. I asked them to add the discount they offered and they sent a revised invoice. I don't know how the first job of the day became more than 3 hours of waiting to start, so I guess either the right hand didn't know what the left hand was doing, or they lied to me, or things changed and my move was pushed back and I was not notified. It did not leave a positive impression for the phone team from me.
