This is my absolute favorite theater. The service and staff are great, the food and drink are as well. Seats are comfortable recliners that are heated.

My only issue, and this is recent because this never happened before was they didn't turn the lights down completely for the movie. I was told this was a new change. Yeah, not a fan. We saw Resident Evil, and with the lights still on the way they were it kind of takes you out of it especially for a horror movie. The movie itself is very dark, and having the lights on drown the complete darkness of the movie out enough to make it annoying. I hope they go back to the way it was.

Literally not even a little bit impressed. My husband and I had not been there since it was Gold Class Cinemas until tonight. I bought the Premium Pod Seats in Row G but what they don't tell you about these seats they charge more for is that if you are in Row G it is an obstructed view of the screen due to the Pods in front of you. We ordered food and alcoholic drinks. The drinks were not great but typical for a movie theater. The food was horrendous. I don't mind dropping 200 bucks for good food and drinks but this wasn't even close. It was shocking to us because we really enjoyed it when it was Gold Class Cinemas. The Pods are nice and the heated seats are a nice touch but only if you are in the first row of Pods with the unobstructed view. I think we will stick with AMC.

All the wonderful things I can say… let me start here. Tony is the best manager and I am so happy to see that he is back! I have been coming to this location since it was IPic. Even though the ownership changed the concept remains the same… full service bar & restaurant to your movie seat. Food and drinks are always on point. If you need service a convenient button is on your table, and the waitstaff is ready to serve. I feel like royalty every time I come to watch a movie, and I don’t go anywhere else! I love the private pods; blanket and popcorn are included in the ticket, and now they have several topping options for the popcorn! What more could you ask for? The location is also great! The courtyard has a color changing fountain that makes me feel like I’m in downtown Chicago at Buckingham Fountain

I had such a great experience at Star Cinema Grill! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt welcoming, cozy, and perfect for a movie night. The seats were very comfortable, the theater felt clean, and it was really nice to be able to enjoy food and drinks while watching the movie.

What I liked the most is that it doesn’t feel like just a regular movie theater — it feels like a full night out. It’s a great place for a date night, spending time with family, or just relaxing after a busy day. The staff was friendly, the service was smooth, and everything made the evening feel easy and enjoyable.

I really enjoyed the whole experience and would definitely come back again. Star Cinema Grill is a fun and comfortable place where you can enjoy a movie, good food, and a great atmosphere all in one spot!

The bar service at Star Cinema Grill SOUTH BARRINGTON was impressively awful. We stood there waiting while staff effortlessly served everyone who arrived after us—as if ignoring us was part of the job description. Not a glance, not a word, not even the faintest hint of competence.

If indifference were a standard, they’d be exceeding expectations. 👠
