I originally chose this PCP based on her high Google reviews, but she does not deserve her 4.6-star rating. My experience aligns with several other negative reviews that complain about this office forcing unnecessary, paid visits just to collect billing fees.

Incorrect Medical Advice: During a routine physical, the provider gave me incorrect, outdated health information regarding standard preventative screening intervals.

Lack of Financial Respect & Unprofessionalism: After identifying a health metric that required periodic monitoring, I completed my follow-up testing and noted improvement. Because I have a high-deductible insurance plan, I told the office I would continue monitoring it through follow-up lab work to manage my out-of-pocket costs. When I later returned for a completely separate visit, the doctor blamed me for not scheduling an extra paid office visit.

Withholding Results Unless They Can Bill: This office has a deeply concerning communication policy. They never call to confirm when critical preventative imaging or screenings come back clear. They only reach out when they can force you to come into the office for a face-to-face appointment to read basic lab results, solely to bill you and your insurance.

Do not let the high rating fool you. This practice feels entirely motivated by billing opportunities rather than genuine patient care, and I highly recommend looking elsewhere.

I was a patient at Virginia Center for Medicine for approximately 10 years, going back to when Dr. Abraham owned the practice. I left about four years ago, and looking back, leaving was one of the best decisions I made for my health.

I now pay the $199 annual membership for One Medical, and the difference has been remarkable. I can get appointments when I need them, obtain and review my lab results easily, and actually receive timely responses when I have a question or concern. Most importantly, I feel that my health is being actively monitored and managed rather than simply reacting when something goes wrong.

People sometimes underestimate how important good primary care really is. Your primary-care physician is the first line of defense between being healthy today and discovering a serious illness far too late. Routine laboratory testing, appropriate screening, follow-up, and simply having a doctor who is accessible can make an enormous difference. In some cases, that difference can literally be life-changing.

Virginia Center for Medicine was once a practice I trusted enough to remain with for a decade. Unfortunately, under the newer ownership, my experience deteriorated so substantially that I ultimately felt I could no longer rely on the practice for the level of primary care I needed. By the time I left, getting appointments, getting information, and obtaining appropriate follow-up had become unnecessarily difficult.

Four years later, I am healthier, my medical care is better organized, and I have far greater confidence that important issues will not simply fall through the cracks.

My advice to anyone considering this practice is to take the quality and accessibility of your primary care very seriously. For me, paying $199 a year for One Medical has been an extraordinarily worthwhile investment. I would gladly spend that amount again for the access, responsiveness, and peace of mind.

Your primary-care relationship is too important to settle for a practice that you cannot reliably access when you need it. Protect your health—and your sanity.

Dr. Kohli is friendly and takes time to listen and answer your questions. I highly recommend her. Focia, her nurse, is also friendly and pleasant and a pleasure to interact with.

I saw Dr. Kohli for the first time and had a very positive experience. She was very attentive, listened carefully to my concerns, and provided clear direction on how to take better care of my health. Dr. Kohli is very informative and took the time to explain my options and next steps in a way that was easy to understand. I left the visit feeling confident that I have a good path forward to live a healthier life and would gladly recommend her to others.
