That’s the big difference between being in healthcare and other careers I considered.” Dr. Kapoor’s father taught him the importance of work ethic and perseverance. He relies on both as he provides care in the Intensive Care Unit. “ICU medicine is fast paced, you have to think critically all the time, you can see the results of treatment quickly and there is a high-level of comradery among the care team. I like that. I am also suited for the often-chaotic ICU environment because I am very calm in general, and I understand people’s emotional distress pretty well.” Outside the ICU, Dr. Kapoor enjoys photography and cooking.
