It all started with the deck. We were replacing a 20+ year old pressure treated deck. Did we want to use TimberTech or Trex? After receiving some samples from both, we picked TimberTech. Then we asked TimberTech for recommendations. They sent us 2 or 3, one of which was Piedmont Decks, and when we met Zachary, we knew we had the correct builder. He was very professional in creating and presenting the details of the project. In addition to the deck (with cable rail system), the project included an outdoor patio living area consisting of bluestone patio, retaining walls, complete with poly carbonate ceiling panels, infrared heaters, fans, stone fireplace, gas logs, outdoor TV. We knew if it came close to looking like the presentation, we had a winner!! And it looked better!! One or two minor hiccups along the way, quickly fixed, and project turned out to be great. We would use them again. Zach and his crew were great to work with.

Piedmont Decks did a fantastic job for us. We had our old deck replaced by a new composite deck. They did a beautiful job. Zach and Cody were both extremely helpful and made the process very enjoyable. They answered all my questions I had and explained everything from the beginning until the end of the deck being constructed. They also picked up after themselves and kept the work site clean throughout the process. I would highly recommend this company for any kind of deck you may be needing!!!!

Zack and Cody were great to work with and very professional. Removed a wood deck and created a lovely new composite deck. They did quality work and communicated with me every step of the way. My friend referred them to me and my neighbor will now be having them do some work for her. Very satisfied customer.

After 18 years my wooden deck looked worse for wear. In November 2024, I researched local deck builders and scheduled several contractors to obtain quotes from. I wanted a complete demolition of the deck surface + structure and rebuilt completely with non-organic alternatives (metal or composite for the frame and PVC for the decking).

Only Piedmont Decks & Outdoor Living, was enterprising enough to go on this adventure and suggested an engineered composite lumber from Owens Corning.

Zach and his team were very pleasant and considerate of my work schedule and always arrived punctually to appointments. He has a dedicated team and would sometimes even work past sunset or even weekends to get the job done.

The deck turned out to be exactly what I wanted, and I am extremely happy with the finished product. I would consider using them again for a future project and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to friends and neighbors.

WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND NORTHERN CONTRACTING!!!!! WE COULD NOT BE MORE PLEASED!!!
You would not think that anything good would come out of a deck staircase with steps completely rotted through. But it led us to Northern Contracting, Zach Grist, and his crew, Will, Blake, and Jackson. We had an amazing experience with this company. When Zach came to quote our project, he was knowledgeable about construction, accommodating to our needs and budget, and responsive to our many questions. He helped us to design the perfect deck instead of simply replacing the existing design. He worked within our budget and quoted a fair price. His bid was the best by far. Zach let us know the projected timeframe to complete the project and stayed in constant communication throughout the job. His crew, Will, Blake, and Jackson were everything you want from people working at your home; clean cut, respectful, thoughtful, hardworking, safety conscious, music loving, and each with a great sense of humor. They showed up on time, exactly as promised, and finished the job on time, as promised. We were totally impressed with the quality of their workmanship and the excellence of the materials used for the project. Our only regret is that did not hire them years ago to replace the old deck.

Zachary and his crew did an awesome job! They were very professional and polite. They kept us informed of their timeline and communicated at every step of the process. They were really flexible with the construction options which allowed us to get exactly what we wanted for a reasonable price. I will definitely be using them again in the future and I highly recommend them!
