In the past year and one-half, our family had extended stays at the Baymont in Kirksville. Our sister became ill and needed assistance from us. The Baymont and its staff not only assisted the family but made sure everything was going well in our lives. They were professional, did their jobs extremely well, but also empathetic and checking on us. We apologize as we wanted to list all the employees of the hotel, but the list was lost in the packing. We are so grateful.

It is rare that I would write a bad review but, in this instance, I feel I must. We booked this hotel for my daughter's wedding party and guests. There were relatively minor issues with quality, service, and function that were brought to my attention by the majority of the guests from our party. For the most part I was getting along okay. The beds and pillows were quite comfortable, and I had no significant issues, though I noticed that the facility appeared somewhat run down. It was inconvenient that the ice machine was out of order. It was inconvenient that the only treadmill was out of order as well. However, the incident when I returned to the hotel after the wedding at 11:30 p.m. last night was extraordinarily frustrating and inconvenient. The key to my room did not work. The key to our usher's room down the hall did not work. The clerk attempted to help with new keys which was unsuccessful. She attempted to call a manager with no answer. I believe she attempted to call the owner or upper management as well. The clerk, who was a new employee, then attempted other solutions with no success. I called another Wyndham facility down the road and their clerk actually drove to our facility to attempt to help. I spent nearly an hour and a half standing in the hallway in my gown and heels. The usher and his pregnant wife left the facility altogether. Eventually, my door opened for no apparent reason after trying both of the keys one after another over and over again (not the first time). Apparently, the battery needed to be changed, as a different clerk had told me when I first arrived and had issues getting in. The facility should be on top of this and never put a guest through this experience. What is most alarming is that both clerks told me there is no manager available to them at night. Our clerk was two weeks into her job. Obviously, this can potentially create safety issues as well unacceptably inconveniencing their guests. It very much put a damper on the end of a most excellent day.

The tub on our room never fully shut off. The blankets were ripped up on one bed. The pool complete shut down. Only reason I booked a hotel instead of an Air BnB was my daughter wanted to swim. The breakfast food was horrible. Unriped froot, waffle mix was sour, both bacon and sausage smelled bad. The lobby bathroom had 2 empty toilet paper rolls on the roller and a half used roll in the sink. I spent way to much money for all this nonsense.

Well it's a hotel. It's overpriced. Room had a musty odor. Definitely not what I expected for more than $200 a night. Hardwood floors are great in some areas, but I prefer carpet when I get out of bed. Noticeable water damage along the baseboards. The room had a pullout sofa sleeper, but I had to go to the front desk to get linens. TV had no local channels, or cable TV. Definitely won't stay here next year.

The hotel isn't too bad. The best part about them was a super friendly cat Henry that hung out in the lobby. He was like a mascot and everyone loved him. I don't even like cats and I always looked forward to seeing him.
For some reason the owner made them get rid of him
