Rugged Point Lodge was extremely well organized and well run during our July 2025 trip. The room and lodge were very nice, food was gourmet level, staff were friendly and efficient, and the boat and gear were well set up. The fishing was some of the best I have ever experienced in over 20 years of fishing on the West Coast of Vancouver Island. Our guide Josh was an excellent fisherman and easy to spend the day with. The fish processing onsite was extremely high quality as well. Overall, a great experience and would definitely like to return for another trip. Thanks!!

Went with a bunch of buddies. Had a fantastic time. Fishing was on fire, pretty much limited on everything. Local guides really are the best and they knew exactly what they were doing. Food was better than I’ve had anywhere in a long time. Comfy rooms and all around great place with great staff who are so friendly and really do their best to accommodate you with anything you might need. I’d go again in a heartbeat.

Absolutely a 5 star fishing lodge experience!
Amazing hospitality in the most beautiful setting. Fished our limits and made great new friends.
We have stayed at a number of fishing lodges on this coast and this was by far our best experience all round to date.
Thank you to the owners and staff for giving us an excellent time!

Top notch guided fishing outfit. Just came back from our third trip to this lodge. As much as I’d like to try a different place, it’s really hard to change when u know ur getting excellent service. From the fishing to the staff to the guides and the chef, Rugged Point Lodge never disappoints. Thank you to the staff and crew for another memorable fishing excursion.

What a great trip. Rugged Point Lodge was an amazing experience. My father and I had a great time at the lodge. The fishing was great and the guiding was on-point. Matt was our guide and worked hard to meet our expectations. I highly recommend this lodge for a truely great Canadian experience!

Absolutely amazing experience. The staff is friendly and the guides are the best in the business. We fished with Gary and our son and his wife fished with Kevin. This is our second trip with Gary and I can't imaging fishing with anyone else. The guides all live in the area and know it intimately. The boats and equipment are perfectly suited for this area and are first class. The lodge is spotless as are the rooms. The food is defiantly not on my weight watchers menu and is super good and plenty of it. We plan on fishing with Rugged Point again and highly recommend them regardless if your an experienced angler or looking for someplace to experience your first guided salt water trip.
